Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

I went to LYP for Uglyvamp's BBS5 today. Bought lotsa fans n nice accessories from him. Then I thought y not go upstairs to LYP for sum window shopping. BAAAAAAADDDDDD idea! Ended up spending even more $$$$. I walked by ATE n saw that they had the Lian Li V1000 on display which is a pretty rare occurence. They usually dont haf stock for it n u hafta place an order for it without actually seeing, feeling, touching it, n that plain sux coz when u buy such an expensive case u definitely wanna see, feel, touch b4 putting down ure cash for it.

So I proceeded to molest the case. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif I picked it up off the display shelf to haf a much closer look at the internal structure n build quality. All I can say is it was loooooooooooooovely. My only complaint is that the V1000 is really puny n wudn fit all my hardware nicely. Anyway, that V1000 just wasn't meant to be as it even bit me when I picked it up. The side panel has a nice looking serrated edge for looks. The serrated edge sure looks good but I tell u, that edge sure is like a Rambo knife n feels like it too when it bites u. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif My finger was so badly cut, I jokingly told the boss I was gonna sue him for bodily harm. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Anyway, I then asked if they had the V1200B which is my all time favorite case. I've never seen ATE display it. That's the main reason y I never bought it until now coz I only buy things after I get to see, feel, touch n molest! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
N then, holy, moly, momma of cases, the boss answered me by saying "Yes I haf the V1200B in my storeroom". Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I was elated, I was practically jumping up n down with glee. So I immediately asked for it to be brought out. Saw, felt, touched, molested, n bought. Hehehehe.

N here we are, a new Worklog with a new case. I shall call it Project King Kong. I'm in the midst of doing another complete case mod for sum1 so my own King Kong will only be done while I'm waiting for parts for the other mod to arrive. So it's gonna b slow n steady for King Kong.

Here's a pic of the new stuff going into King Kong for now.

Ya bro, this is to replace the Ch3@psk8 case. I will remove everything from Ch3@psk8, do a new style side window + add a top window n respray it to new condition again. Then I'm gonna find a new home for it. cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

I named it King Kong coz I actually bought this new case to suit my new gfx card. My old 6800GT was watercooled so the internal case temps were really cool. The CPU n GPU both watercooled so there's no heat in the case. Now with the 7950GX2 which is air cooled, it dumps an incredible amount of heat into the case n it's very hot in there. My mobo oso suffering. Mobo temps hitting 50C on idle!!!! The 7950GX2 oso very, very hot even on idle. The bottom card idles at about 55C, the hotter card at the top is idling at an incredible 70C!!! N my gaming sessions go on for 6-7 hours a day. Just imagine the peak temps for 6-7 hours a day, everyday. Everything's gonna die a premature death from heatstroke. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Anyway, my 7950GX2 is from Asus n the box looks like this.

Well, when I saw the V1200B at ATE, my knees just went weak n I cudn resist it. I've been wanting the V1200 for the longest time but ATE never had it in stock. Today got stock n being the compulsive buyer that I am, I just cudn resist. Kakakkakaa.

Anyway, I've been doing a lotta research on the heatpipe being upside down n I've come to the conclusion that my A8N32SLi mobo's heatpipe shudn b too adversely affected by being upside down seeing as how new heatpipes dont really rely on gravity nowadays. Besides I reckon that the current situation of the 7950GX2 dumping all that heat into the old case makes my mobo temps worse than being upside down in a superbly well ventilated case. Plus my GX2 is gonna b a whole lot cooler now with the blower fan right next to it expelling all that hot air straight out the back.

There's a bonus to y I like this new upside down layout too. Now my biggest concern of water leaking onto the gfx cards is solved. The gfx cards r now on top. So if ever I'm unlucky again, it'll just drip onto the lower part of the case which houses things which r very much cheaper compared to the gfx cards. I'll b changing my water loop layout to keep everything at the bottom of the case. Radiator, pump n everything will b at the bottom. The only things going up will b the hoses to the CPU block. I will also be making an acrylic tray for the bottom of the mobo section that is above the PSU. The tray will b able to contain any slow leaks so as not to short out the PSU by dripping into it. U can never, ever b too careful when it comes to water cooling n u know it well too. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif BTW, what's the news on ure 7800GT RMA?
