Tried out the nokia X at lowyat plaza today. Build quality very solid, no kidding. There's 2 display units, one with ori software and one rooted with android. Both also equally smooth, im impressed man

at first my dad thought i bought a lumia but then i said to him this is nokia's first android phone. btw, dad is using lumia 800.

already rooted the phone, one thing that i dont like is the lack of camera autofocus.

Actually the purpose of Nokia X with the Modern interface is to let users familiarize with Modern interface of Windows Phone and also let users use Microsoft services like OneDrive with hope that when users have more money, they will jump ship to Nokia Lumia, which have the same interface and services but only diff OS in behind...

Then what is the purpose of posting here?

This is an entry smartphone, repeat after me, entry smartphone...With less than RM400, you get a solid and decent smartphone in which it has no prob on normal phone use/SMS, chit chatting like WhatApps, play some simple games...what else you can ask?

So please don't compare those high end phone with Nokia X...

CM10 (Android 4.1.2) bringup is ongoing [1] [2]. CM dev say 4.2.2 is the last Android version supported on this hardware (probably means the SoC) [3], but speculates an unofficial kitkat build is possible [4].

TL;DR: Probably no official KitKat from Nokia, possible from CM.

It depends on what kind of users are you and how desperate you are...
If you are just a casual users, not really playing any hardcore graphic games, and really desperate already, then why not just go with Nokia X?

But...if you can wait some more, now the diff price is just about RM 30++ based on the price mention in dollar converted to RM, then just wait a bit more ba...

But this phone will really suitable for those who are just change from dumbphones to smartphones...With simple, clean and easy to use UI, users will have no probs start to use them as usual...App store wise, well the sell person will need to help setup app store, install some essentials apps...But after that is a breeze already..

Nokia X,XL and X+ are suitable for entry level Android user who is Nokia supporter. So far, Nokia still keep it's characteristic - solid feel and moderate quality for budget phone. The Nokia Android phones are selling in a reasonable price with Qualcomm chipset in case of compare with other brands (Alca, Hua, Leno, Nine, CXL) are using Mediatek chipset still selling RM300++. From my own survey, Mediatek chipset are weak GPS, weak wifi signal and weak output sound. Very lucky, Nokia chosen Qualcomm chipset as phone motherboard. On GPU side, all these 3 phones are using Adreno 203, suppose the maximum support resolution is 480 X 854 pixels, but Nokia used 480 X 800 pixels to keep the smoothness of UI interface. The LCD has IPS but lack of scratch protection likes Corning Gorrila glass. Understand that the reason of budget and normally budget phone not using this kind of glass. Even the Sam Gran Two also did not have. Not forget to mention CPU is Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A5. Although the Cortex-A5 structure is for lower performance device but very battery saving. Nokia packed Li-Ion battery with capacity 2000mAh (Nokia XL) is more than the suitable because the latest Ifone just packed with 1560mAh capacity battery. The physical spec wrote Nokia X has 512MB RAM, but the actual usable RAM is 381MB because some MB of RAM is used to be VM and Cache. The 381MB RAM can running a Facebook app and Whatapps in background is the bottleneck. Some of the Leno Android budget phone (A3X9i) is lack of GPS, at least these Nokia Android budget phone has GPS with A-GPS support. Overall, the desgin, features and performance are tally with the price tag.

Not desperate to change yet.
I'm just looking for a low end phone that is more fluid then my current one.
I'm not really into a higher end, since I don't use much features except socializing.

If price different ain't much and it is more fluid.
X+ seem like a better choice.
