Telecommunications, in my opinion, has a good market as far as employment is concern. It is still in its infancy as a lot of new technologies are being invented. However the downside is if you are in this industry you'll have to keep up with the technologies to remain competitive (kinda like the IT industry in some ways). Of course you dont have to work for the big telcos to be in this industry, you can be a supplier, a vendor, a content provider, sub contractor, etc.

QUOTE(stevie-g @ Jul 15 2006, 10:22 AM) Hi there. Plz give ur point of view for all these industry in Malaysia based on ur knowledge, experience and opinion. Stevie-g,Thanks! If you ask the WRONG question, you will never get the right answer!! Unless, you are an investor and you are investing in those industries, then, maybe you are asking the right question which I do not think so. The actual question that you are trying to ask is what is my possible future in those industries?? But, that is the WRONG question too. You maybe working in industry A but why should your future be dependent on industry A?? Let me just give you an example to show how irrelevant your question is. Let's say X is a good sales person. He/she has been selling Telecom equipments. Let's say the telecom equipment market in Malaysia had gone to hell. Is X in trouble?? Yes, if X insist on only selling Telecom equipment. But, X could have using his/her selling skill to sell something else. The world had changed and it is changing faster and faster. The days that we can count on doing the same job or staying in the same industry for a long time is over. We have to be flexible and adaptable in order to survive. You need to think of yourself as a person with certain transferable skills that you can use across many many jobs and industries in order to survive. Dreamer |
