i think its a sign of depression. i think you should stop it, before you go totally bald.

Hi, I have been doing research on this matter last time. Basically, hair loss is common to us in normal day if it does not exceed more than 50-100 hairs. Mens' baldness can be identified with the Males Hair Loss Pattern.

There are several factors causing hairs drop.

1. Generic problem(Men only)
High-level of DHT (DiHydro Testosterone), which induces hair follicles shrink and eventually fall out and increases estrogen level in the hair growth life cycle. It will cause permanent hair loss.

2. Temporary Hair Loss
Pressure, illness, poor vitamin assimilation due to diet, taking radioactive medical treatment like Chemotherapy, improper haircare.

3. Pregnancy (Women)
Hair loss after pregnancy

Hair Treatment
Scalp environment is also important in determining the hair fall. You can try shampoos like Nioxin ( I am using this, around RM65 for cleanser and RM80+ for scalp therapy) , Bioyln, HairGenesis DHT Blocker and so on.These shampoo provide an optimum scalp environment and good for hair growth. Healthy scalp = healthy hair

Medicine
1. Propecia (may have side-effect)
2. Dutasteride
3. Minoxidil

Good Practices for Hair Care
1. Comb hair everyday for hair blood circulation
2. Do not wear cap for long period of time
3. Massage your scalp everyday
4. Do not stay in air-conditioned room for long period of time
5. Do not eat too much spicy, hot foods
6. Take more B2 and B5 vitamins. Excessive taking of vitamin A would cause hair loss.
7. Avoid applying the hair styling products on scalp.
8. Do not pour the shampoo on your head directly, but rub it first with hands.

A more straightforward solution - Consult Hair Loss / Skin Specialists

Just my 2 cents. End of story~

its a compulsive disorder, signs of stress, anxiety and/or depression. think back to when you started doing it and what was going on in your life at the time.

make a concious decision to stop and whenever you find yourself doing it, stop.
