QUOTE(90Boyz @ Oct 20 2021, 06:19 PM) Just ask the foreman open and inspect whether the metal fins still intact or not Ohh.. the picture you've shown is caused by rust and corrosion from using tap water.. If your cooling system always runs on coolant, the water pump fins will not rust and corrode away like that... So water pump is the least of my worries.

QUOTE(nike89 @ Oct 20 2021, 08:35 PM) May I know where is this kwong yik shop? i never know need to check this alternator stuff at all... my car current at 136+k how to know if we need to refurnish alternator? any symptom? You can see a thread at the main page of Fast & Furious where they mentioned about this alternator shop.. Normally alternator fails without giving any warning sign.. if unlucky, it can fail below 100k KM... If lucky, it can last over 200k KM. So it is a good practice to get it checked and serviced in between 100-150k KM as there are wear and tear parts inside the alternator that can be replaced such as the magnets and carbon brush etc.

QUOTE(nike89 @ Oct 21 2021, 10:11 AM) is this service provided at honda SC? just wonder would they cover this as part of preventive maintenance. can i know roughly how much it cost if done at kwong yik. Nolor.. SC will only do parts replacement. Such tedious, labour intensive and technical job they don't do it. Making quick bucks is SC main agenda here. Actually even normal independent workshop don't do this. Only people who are technically skilled to refurbish alternators offer such a service.

QUOTE(90Boyz @ Oct 30 2021, 07:48 PM) genuine Showa honda parts with 1year warranty I replaced blower motor fan, cooling coil and condenser drier It's weird.. As far as I know, normally aircond parts usually doesn't come with warranty unless it is being installed in certified repair workshops like DENSO aircond specialist. This is because at times, it is not the new parts that are faulty but bad installation made it go faulty within the warranty period (e.g. over fill the refrigerant and oil which may cause over pressure in the system thus gas leakages). Since you've opted for Showa cooling coil, I guess the price is around there taking into consideration you had replaced the blower fan and receiver dryer. May I know how much the receiver dryer cost? I just replaced my few months back and was told the TMO's receiver drier is more expensive than others. Like RM30 vs RM90 for TMO. The function of the receiver dryer is basically absorb moisture in the aircond system. Since my is already 11 years old, I had replaced it. This post has been edited by Thrust: Oct 31 2021, 07:53 AM

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Nov 2 2021, 07:46 AM) so my car has been creaking on off when going on bump, and lately a bit more serious when taking corner as well (it never really creak when corner before, but the sound not so serious la). i have changed my engine mounts on April so i don't think it was the issue, then i narrow down in my mind, the absorbers, which i changed aftermarket (shokz by apm) about 3-4 years ago. i have left over of AT205 (search in this forum what this is about), which is a liquid to rejuvenate rubber and and sprayed on the absorber, as you can see it was wet a bit. and it helps. but i just noticed something. when i turn steering to left, the left absorber mount has gap, when i turn steering to right, the right absorber mount has gap, is this normal? There will always be a gap on the parts that you've shown.. I suggest you to ask someone to look at that area when you turn the steering to the left or right. Just keep the car stationery. That rubber part should not move when you turn.. If it moves means the absorber mounting or its equivalent parts are worn and require replacement. Sometimes, it may be cause from installation error too. This post has been edited by Thrust: Nov 2 2021, 07:54 AM

QUOTE(90Boyz @ Nov 2 2021, 08:01 AM) The pictures you shown above is not the absorber mounting. An absorber mounting for GM2 look like below. This is mounted on top of the absorber. You can't see it as it is hidden below the rubber part and chassis you've shown.

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Nov 2 2021, 09:38 AM) that's great thanks! i have also asked from the babysitter uncle that used to own a spare parts shop. he also said its not normal. it could be installation, it could be absorber mounting underneath broke. or he said there is a bearing as part of the assembly, which may have defect. sigh..guess i have to head to AR Man auto this evening. considering i have to go interstate to in laws house tomorrow after so long. just for the record, when i replace it, i only use after market shocks. all others like mounting, bush, i uses ori bought from honda authorized shop. I also recommend VMAG.. Their price is confirm cheaper than AR Man.

QUOTE(90Boyz @ Nov 2 2021, 09:57 AM) when i replaced my shock absorber 2years ago and i bought all the part through shopee bump stopper, absorber mounting, mounting bearing and dust cover are under KYB brand i didn't consider Honda showa which at that time still consider looking at my budget kinda tight at that time so i went on purchased from Shopee. until today so far i dislike the shock are it was too harsh to my liking was planning on looking at monroe OE and will replace all bush again since under the same process when assembling Yes.. KYB Excel G is still a bit firmer than Showa but after a year or 2 .. it should get softer after usage. Another way is to lower your tyre pressure to compensate for the stiff shocks.

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Nov 3 2021, 12:02 PM) Nope. I change it myself a couple of months back. And VMag helped me check again yesterday lol. Just not sure if due to wash engine bay, got some water stuck in there. After blown it away, now ok. Possible or not lol. Blower motor is right underneath the front passenger dashboard inside the car. cleaning the engine bay with water won't wet the blower fan motor. It's great to see everyone here taking good care of their car..
This GM2 if it is well kept, can last a very long time. I've saw some already covered more than 700,000km via FB Group.
So Kipidap, don't Give Up!

Actually I am not so concern about the longevity of the engine. Honda's engine can easily last a very long time if it is well taken care (don't push hard and regular oil change and spark plugs).
The weakest link to me is the gearbox. Although the gearbox is considered durable by today's standard, the clutch packs will eventually wears out. Once it wears out, you will need to dismantle the gearbox to replace the clutch pack.

QUOTE(90Boyz @ Nov 5 2021, 04:50 PM) lol .. speaking of the gearbox now it gives some problem on last Sunda like when 1st gear shift to 2nd gear and the vehicle "jerking" but after 2nd to 3rd and so on the "jerking" sensations no more . The 'jerking' effects only lasted for 2days and doesn't seems to encounter anymore .. suspect the ATF went dirty since already 26k KM on the belt. When it comes to ATF, i'd recommend people to replace it every 20k instead of the recommended 60k interval. Reason being, at 60k interval, the correct procedure is to perform a drain & refill 3 times to get 90% of the fluid out (including fluid in the torque converter). That is why, I'd rather replace it at 20k interval instead of the 60k interval.

QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Nov 7 2021, 10:20 AM) I got twice like too. The gearbox like dont want to change gear. Changed atf and seems fine. That was quite some yearay ago. https://www.facebook.com/groups/22387391197...52718295004208/This guy symptoms same like mine but i got no burn smell and since then on the back from johor, this morning drive to pasar and couple of times start engine in johor also seems fine. Will continue monitor The facebook link.. the blower motor resistor got problem. That's why some fan speed can spin, some can't.. just need to replace the resistor only.
