Ohh.. the picture you've shown is caused by rust and corrosion from using tap water..

If your cooling system always runs on coolant, the water pump fins will not rust and corrode away like that... So water pump is the least of my worries.

You can see a thread at the main page of Fast & Furious where they mentioned about this alternator shop..

Normally alternator fails without giving any warning sign.. if unlucky, it can fail below 100k KM... If lucky, it can last over 200k KM.

So it is a good practice to get it checked and serviced in between 100-150k KM as there are wear and tear parts inside the alternator that can be replaced such as the magnets and carbon brush etc.

Nolor.. SC will only do parts replacement. Such tedious, labour intensive and technical job they don't do it.

Making quick bucks is SC main agenda here. Actually even normal independent workshop don't do this.

Only people who are technically skilled to refurbish alternators offer such a service.

How come so expensive?

It's weird.. As far as I know, normally aircond parts usually doesn't come with warranty unless it is being installed in certified repair workshops like DENSO aircond specialist.

This is because at times, it is not the new parts that are faulty but bad installation made it go faulty within the warranty period (e.g. over fill the refrigerant and oil which may cause over pressure in the system thus gas leakages).

Since you've opted for Showa cooling coil, I guess the price is around there taking into consideration you had replaced the blower fan and receiver dryer.

May I know how much the receiver dryer cost? I just replaced my few months back and was told the TMO's receiver drier is more expensive than others. Like RM30 vs RM90 for TMO.

The function of the receiver dryer is basically absorb moisture in the aircond system. Since my is already 11 years old, I had replaced it.

Ah.. no wonder.. then the price is justifiable.

There will always be a gap on the parts that you've shown..

I suggest you to ask someone to look at that area when you turn the steering to the left or right. Just keep the car stationery. That rubber part should not move when you turn.. If it moves means the absorber mounting or its equivalent parts are worn and require replacement. Sometimes, it may be cause from installation error too.

The pictures you shown above is not the absorber mounting. An absorber mounting for GM2 look like below.



This is mounted on top of the absorber. You can't see it as it is hidden below the rubber part and chassis you've shown.

I also recommend VMAG.. Their price is confirm cheaper than AR Man.

Yes.. KYB Excel G is still a bit firmer than Showa but after a year or 2
.. it should get softer after usage. Another way is to lower your tyre pressure to compensate for the stiff shocks.

Vmag is like the bengkel style workshop.. no place for you to play with laptop.

Most likely blower motor going to KO soon.

Blower motor is right underneath the front passenger dashboard inside the car. cleaning the engine bay with water won't wet the blower fan motor.

This GM2 if it is well kept, can last a very long time. I've saw some already covered more than 700,000km via FB Group.

Actually I am not so concern about the longevity of the engine. Honda's engine can easily last a very long time if it is well taken care (don't push hard and regular oil change and spark plugs).

The weakest link to me is the gearbox. Although the gearbox is considered durable by today's standard, the clutch packs will eventually wears out. Once it wears out, you will need to dismantle the gearbox to replace the clutch pack.

When it comes to ATF, i'd recommend people to replace it every 20k instead of the recommended 60k interval.

Reason being, at 60k interval, the correct procedure is to perform a drain & refill 3 times to get 90% of the fluid out (including fluid in the torque converter). That is why, I'd rather replace it at 20k interval instead of the 60k interval.

The facebook link.. the blower motor resistor got problem. That's why some fan speed can spin, some can't.. just need to replace the resistor only.
