if I were to do it, I better get the parts myself from genuine part dealers.
usually outside aircon service workshop only provide OEM.

so I googled and went to a nearby aircon specialist that looks professional.
feel good as when I drive over at 3pm even though its getting hot, the aircon was very cool (cooler than usual but maybe whole morning raining).

asked to service and don't feel much issue except when its 12pm noon and aircon wont feel as strong.
the main foreman say "ok..but we usually do a round of check first coz if got issue, servicing it don't really solve any issues".

i was okay with it.
so they did check and based on the machine. they are able to to recover only 26x (not sure what unit of measurement) of gas. foreman said from spec our city should have 480.
that is like almost half gas gone

he gave me two options.
rm300 to service (that's including replacing the dryer receiver, thanks Thrust for educating me )
or
rm100, replace with new gas up to 480 after they have recovered the old gas, and add UV dye to check where is the leak.

decided to go for rm100.

he said from checks cant really know if there is leak or from where. and for our model, usually its the cooling coil but he cant confirm unless to do the UV dye.
i did ask the price of cooling coil replacement he said its about rm1.8k all ori parts plus labor, plus the services.

let's see how it goes for now. but 26x out of 480 recovered really a bit shocking.

from record, I last replaced the magnetic clutch 2 years ago on April.

yeah. some online review said this shop is expensive but many was giving good review too. it didn't plan to do anything major there. just asking for a reference.
the reason why I choose this shop is coz they have proper machine to extract gas, and more up to date tools.

i am now thinking to get a UV torchlight to check closely if there is any leakage.
lets see how. like you said over time it may reduce and the car is 9 years already.

if i have to topup gas every 2 years. its not that bad as a "fix".

Yesterday was not a good test day as i fixed at about 4pm and it was raining the whole morning. Lets see the next few days.

Having said that, when the dial is on 1, don't feel much diff. But when i put on 2, can feel alot diff. Much cooler.

I was always on 1 for the first 5 years as me and my partner cant really stand too cold. Only when we have our child and need to sit back seat we started with 2.

To those who followed me on my previous gearbox issue. Guess what.

I went to jyunsei honda genuine stockist to purchase atf oil and the packaging i received looks the same where a shopee seller said is fake and the same packagin that i bought which has issue. Lol.

Since its jyunsei, though i bought from them for the first time, im going to trust them.

Btw, they are selling engine oil filter for rm25. Quite pricey. I thought its around rm15?

ah..should have gotten it then.
coz I get from local spare part shop also rm15.

come to think of it, of all the visit I went to genuine spare part shop, I never buy oil filter.

after a few days I can say the aircon is working great (for now). i can feel the "sting of chill" on my face. rather than just cool.
if I put my fingers on the outlet, its stinging chill too.

dial on 1 is still not as good as expected though much more improvement, but 2 works great.

just have to monitor and see if it last.

the past few weeks I feel like my car was dragging or not so powerful enough. but the last few days I feel better pickup now. then i thought maybe aircon no work as hard so car performance also slightly better.
turns out, i forgot that i just cleaned my washable air filter (1 year+, 3k km only). that should be it. and its definitely not placebo coz i totally forgot i clean it the day before.

then i proceed to clean my MAF sensor.

Well. My rm5 free shipping uv light from shopee arrived yesterday.

Im no expect but i checked the engine bay. Trace the line as much as possible and check the engine bay in general, the only thing reflecting back light is the white clips that they use to tied cables all around the bay.

This is after 4 days after the topup gas and uv dye. So far, good news.

I did think if my light is okay and try it on money notes but unfortunately the last time i play with uv light on notes may have been 20 years ago with the older notd design.

I was expecting to see a very visible governor figure with uv light but apparently not. But i do see the monetary value and some lines after i shine the uv light. Maybe notes design different nowadays. Make me realize nowadays no cashier or shop bothered with uv lights anymore nowadays.

Topup

I usually topup my reservoir tank only.

Personally for me, when my car finish warranty and start service outside, on my second service (which should put it on the 4th full year), the mechanic added water to the coolant.

I went back to official sc to have it drained and fill again a week later. Cant remember i think its 3-4 bottles of coolant.

Since then i bought a bottle of coolant and topup myself. My car is almost 10 years now and i have just finished the bottle. so in 5 year or so i topup a total of one bottle of coolant.

I did tot of drain and replacing it. Most video commonly said coolant can last 7 years. but the radiator cap said our coolant can last 10 years lol. So i cheapen out. I think i will just buy another bottle of coolant and topup

If you by any chance bought it second hand, i would do a drain though

Just changed my engine mounting x 3 on Monday, parts already in my house for more than a year
and changed my AT fluid again even though just over 3k km 1 year 1 month.
much more smoother now

now close 132k km.
you can use the 20k reference la..
for me..i have bad experience that i shared before.
bought atf from shopee before, after change liao, gearbox a bit go crazy sometimes. didn't realize it coz i change a lot of things in that period, i thought its something else.
so after i persist a year and change atf fluid last year. gearbox become good back. baru realize maybe coz its the atf i bought online.
so this year is the 2nd time i change ATF after the incident.

as bro Thrust mentioned, changing ATF fluid don't drain all your atf fluid from the system. probably just a quarter of the total atf in the system.
so now i will follow around 1 year change once ATF.

now much more smoother than las year

its good to change every 20k. its a small price to pay. its under/around rm100 only

Its relatively cheap. Rm80 part from genuine stockist, labour outside about rm30 i think. Better do together when change atf. Since some oil may drop off.

Just don't simply go to any workshop. I asked my neighbourhood workshop before. They dunno what im talking about

A famous US YouTuber said before. Most car nowadays come with lifetime atf. No need change at all . So what is lifetime? He ask manufacturer. Refer at or cvt warranty. Which is 100k or 7 years.

Locally i heard same practice. If not mistaken mazda. Some customers just insist to change the atf.

Actually driving in city with that low speed is worse than highway. But anyway, i agree with the discussion here.

I waited 13months and 3k km before i change oil due to mco/rnco/cmco. But im using fully syn as well.

As for atf. 20k km is good. Or maybe your own confort level. 20k or 2 years whichever comes first.

Once after i got off the warranty on 3rd year i actually didn't change atf for a long time cos i still studying and exploring what maintenance needed. I think i went over 30k.

Btw what engine oil and where you all get it from?

Currently on 5w30 shell helix hx8 from giant. But it is SL spec instead of SN. This is my last bottle in my inventory.

Previously one 5w30 molygen liqui moly from paul hew as well.
Seems he is trustable then. Next I'll get back from him perhaps.

Previous previous one also hx8 but change earlier.

Most of the time prior to this was still on honda oil.
