while i hv astroonthego as a backup too, i prefer china's cctv1hd which came with the android.

1. Can I plug a hdd into the USB port behind the router and share the movie file into xbmc in my android box?

why popcorn and xbmc can't be intsalled on same device, this one u r thinking of?

Getting a new wireless router anyway to replace the default one + potentially lifetime warranty on the modem seems okay. There's a newer STB though running android? I'm interested in that. But taking port unavailability upon canceling and reapplying, not worth the risk. Just a few months left on the contract, plenty of time to keep bugging them or waiting to be called with a better deal. Sucks that they don't have serious competitors.

Hi guys, Im new to kodi, recently got an android box with hdmi input, was wondering is there a way to set up so that astro can be watched via kodi itself instead of having multiple hdmi input at my panel? (i already used up the two hdmi input and im trying not to get a switcher). The android box itself comes with recorder software but i noticed the quality of the astro that pass through the software is bad compared to directly connecting the cable to tv.

Saw the same video, however the guys used another pc to host the front end. I wish I can just directly stream it on xbmc instead. Instead of going through another devices.

Sorry about that, I should've been more specific. I owned a Zidoo x9, got it early this year.

It can do recording and passthrough, but the quality outputted (not sure if thats a word) was bad on my 4k panel when it upscale the astro to 4k, but when i play a 720p movie on my panel it looks fine. I suspect the hdmi in app isnt that good, but im no engineer all this is based on my on assumption. But overall the box is really good.

hypptv everywhere is for phone only app.. cant install in android tx box

Like to know how do you control the use of your TV box to prevent kids from watching the "wrong" movies/videos?

There is a parental control but it says it is only effective for some add-ons, not all.

Ideally, all the kids' shows are placed in one big menu and they cannot exit from that menu. Possible?

P/S  Installed another parental control from Kodi. This one is better, one can choose which add-on to protect.
