Anyone have issue like me? After adding new episodes into folder. XBMC does not detect the new episodes.

Tried to search online at many places, no solutions.... Please help. Very frustrating to re-scan entire library everytime I have new episodes updated...

system>video>library>update library at startup

If you want even better one, look here

For me, i use the android/IOS app to initiate the library update ,really simple and nice smile.gif

I don't think XBMC can update the library automatically when a file is updated hmm.gif

I recommend the app way, I mean, your phone is always with you right? tongue.gif

Sorry, left out my post to be more specific.
I did do library update, and it does update upon startup. But even after the library update, the new episodes are not detected.
It only detects the new episodes if I clean out my entire library, and re-scan the whole entire library of files. Which takes quite some time compared to a simple library update.

By the way, am running raspbmc on raspberry pi. Files are located at my desktop.
Confirm new files are no issue, if I search the file through UPNP using XBMC, it plays without any issue.

Just that XBMC wont recognize the new episodes, and I cant figure out why...

from here we know its not your file naming is wrong, but something else. Using SMB right? Maybe you can try sharing using NFS? Thing is im not too familiar with raspbmc, and it might be it doesn't like SMB too much? Have you tried openelec? there are quite a lot of ppl who seem to prefer openelec for raspberry pi, worth a shot I would say.

Finally after days. I found the root of the problem. The new files did not share the same permissions as my folders. After changed it, all worked fine.... Almost drove me insane because of it.
