All TVs claim to do the same thing and yet some perform better than others. Here's my advice based on experience and readings so far... Stay away from android boxes or sticks of RM200, you'll only be asking for trouble later as they are mostly under-powered. Various Mibox users have reported issues particularly with KODI and so I'd avoid that as well if KODI is important to you. As for Netflix, only few certified android boxes CAN stream at 1080p, most just max out at 480p, this is not a fault of the hardware but from Netflix, which refuses to support unofficial boxes. I could easily recommend a box I use here but your previous comment about not being so tech-savvy & coming from a different ecosystem (ATV), its best if you do the research first and fully understand what can be achieved and not, then make your peace with that. Its much easier than you think.

Hint: Get a box that doesn't just say KODI compatible, but one who's devs and manufacturer actively works with the KODI dev team. Search and read thru the android TV boxes thread here on lowyat, Youtube & blog reviews etc... You'll find user's opinions on boxes and brands.

You are welcome. I use a Minix Neo X8-H Plus, might be overkill for just 1080p and KODI support, but hey better safe than sorry. Perhaps the Minix Neo Z64 running Windows, if android isn't your thing. Another contender would be the "Wetek Play", mainly because it supports Android and OpenELECH (known to play well with KODI) at the same time, but I've had no hands on experience or physical access to it. With Netflix, using a DNS service and the smart TV app is much better, at least doing so allows for 1080p and 4K content for supported TVs. The closest in terms of UI and support to the ATV 2 that I can think of would be the Amazon Fire TV or Nvidia Shield Android TV. Going to stop here as this isn't the right thread to discuss such..
