Thinking to run XBMC on a budget hardware.
Do you guy recommend Android (Media Player / Tablet) or Raspberry Pi ?
*
Been using XBMC for a month and it's awesome.
For my main TV I'm using a budget PC connect to my TV using HDMI. Sometimes I use ARC from my TV to my HTIB for better 5.1 sound to get cinema experience. There are many contents in HD and in 5.1 audio and of course new movie or TV show release are available almost up to date.
Mashup contents itself is more than sufficient. There are even 3D movies too and no issue with lagging even with 3D with my VIP10 Unifi.

I also use a Himedia Q5 for my bedroom TV to watch late night sport on Navi using WIFI. Totally satisfy.

Bro..which chanel you use for late nite sport...

I watch Livesports using Navi under Porkie's Playlist folder. Skysports 1 and 2 for football & skysports 4 for golf but in SD only. BT sports also has live football. Infact you can find Skysports in Mashup too.

Anyone experience problem watching HD video on XBMC today. Almost all videos just stopped played.
But some older episodes can play as normal.
Is it just me or anyone else has same issue.

ya, i noticed that last night.

quite a lot dun work at this time - navi-x, mashup live streams, many istream links.

movies-tv video... 1channel, icefilms, daily flix seem ok.

possibly some major xbmc overhaul somewhere??
*
I thought it was my PC. Uninstalled everything and now can install anything. Lucky my notebook is installed with XBMC and able to watch some movie. But Navi can no longer connect.

Looks like I have to wait until this issue rectified

Ok for Mac users

Gotham and Marverick have so many glitches
icefilm not working
mashup not working
buggy especially extended display

Solution
1. remove XMBC on Marverick
2. install in windows (via parallel)
3. set parallel mode to coherence mode* so you can move XBMC to your TV while your mac screen is reading lowyat.

*in normal mode you need to move the whole windows or rather the whole parallel desktop to HDTV

Windows support upto DTS HDMA 7.1 sounds (tested on windows 8.1 Pro via parallel) using thunderbolt to HDMI cable
*
Cool.
Just re-install back Frodo 12.3 to my PC.
Still cannot install the football today add on.

Just installed Kodi to my Minix Neo X-8 and also my HTPC. Added the xbmctorrent and bbts. Very good.

Any guys here know where can I download the popcorn time apk for Android. The Kodi website does not seem to work.

Thanks again for the guidance on how to install xbmctorrent and bbts

yes, i played with all of them!
buffersize changed from 0 to 100mb, 500mb, 1gb, doesn't work. in fact, it doesn't even start to play. so, back to zero.
i do not think the buffersize is the problem here.
set to local or ext, same result. setting to local is not a problem for my android as it has 6gb available for that.

the only semi-successful way is to tick "save", so the file is saved as it is played, not deleted even at exit.
but the same problem will happen - at the point the whole file is dwnlded and saved, the buffer reduces to zero and finally playback stops.
in this setting, since the file is saved, never mind, just playback like any other saved file.
that allows complete watching but is troublesome to stop halfway, play again. plus, need to manually delete file later.
that's what i do now - a poor solution.

can u confirm that on yr rpi, u can playback all the way from start to finish a 45min or 2hr show w/o "script failure: xbmctorrent"?

Yes AVFAN. I watched the series Super Natural 720P with 5.1 DTS using xbmctorrent on my Minix Neo X-8H. Unifi speed 10Mps.
Running time is 45 minutes, no buffering and no problem. Very smooth.

I just follow the setting that you wrote in your previous post.

If I tick "save" does that mean the file is save to the android memory? And need to be deleted manually. So far I cannot find any big file being saved in my android.

I also run xbmctorrent on my HTPC. Here there is no need to modify any file. Just enable the addon and everything running smoothly.

just to add for EPL fans out there; I watched all the weekend EPL matches via NBCSN 720p stream (using OpenElec KODI with 30MB UNIFI (just upgraded).

all the game streaming was fantastic without buffering  thumbup.gif

ciao!

I'm using UNIFI VIP10 watching NBCSN 720P was okay for 5 minutes then buffer.
But when I watch Golf Channel is 1080P (BBTS) totally no buffering until morning
Any clue? Is it because many people are tuning to the Arsenal game.

Thank you. Now I'm watching NBCSN in 1080P (some guys talking in studio) no buffering at all. % is at 95% average. Probably the Arsenal game was congested.
But still can figure why some guys can watch in 720P without buffering.
Will it help if I upgrade to 30MBS UNIFI?

Thank You

What android box do you know that tvapp.so works?
*
This TV APP is a fantastic apps. It works on my PC, MAC and android phone. Unfortunately it doesn't work on my MINIX. But I know it is working on HIMEDIA.
(It depends on the box chipset or firmware but still not really sure)
Not sure of Windows 10 but I just installed on my new laptop with Windows 8 with no problem.
For me this is the best apps with good quality.
