QUOTE(liette` @ May 5 2008, 11:56 PM) Maybe in a couple of weeks. I'm a college student so I'll have to save up for the expenses. In the mean time, I can read up more about Budgies. not to sabur ur from buying anything things.Seeds, any recommended brands? i got a breeder who sell normal & english budgie btw 150 to 170, tame birds. will double check for you if u wan. pure budgie breeder. bought 2 eng budgies from him and all fat n big. if u not in the hurry, try to read more n research a bit more. single 2.5 or 3 month should be betta to bond. clip wing is advised, tame / bonding the bird in a smallest room, eg - toilet. so they can wont fly here n there or teach them whistle, i taught my lovebirds wolf whistle in the toilet, simple instruction like up, down n so on. just my 2 cent. cheers!! |

QUOTE(prophet007 @ May 6 2008, 12:20 AM) LOL...I still remembered the first time I took my budgies to the toilet. They were like flying here and there and I had a hard time catching them. Thats when I decided to trim their feathers. haha yup betta trim their flight feathers, liette`, ask breeder to teach you how to trim or show u the correct way. bout the seed, can ask the breeder wat he/she feeding currently. if got budget a bit, buy those slightly more expensive from commercial pet store, bout 25 to 45 - 5lbs will last you bout 1 to 3 month. depend how u feed ur birds. QUOTE(liette` @ May 6 2008, 12:25 AM) Michael, how much does your breeder charge for a tamed Common Budgie? I'm looking for Common Budgies as I've read they're smarter than their English counterparts and also have a higher life expectancy. well... i will double check for the normal & eng budgies for u.Nice prophet, how old are you? Uncle ah? well.. bout smart - depend on the bird, parent, how u teach him/she n etc... like human only. life span - also depend how u keep it, diet, environment n etc.. no wrong or rite. just my 2 cents |

QUOTE(Juztiny @ May 6 2008, 12:30 AM) Sure RM10 each bird regardless bird type? Zoological bird shop told me sometime the license iincreased up to RM500, very much depending on season. My sister told me she met someone paid bird license for RM500 in Sg Petani Bandaraya, he is operating a bird farm. correct me if wrong.i've heard if rare birds need to pay more for the license, some are like AP la. got donno how many thousand per yrs for whole country la. when u buy parrot - larger breed from petshop, make sure u ask for the license inc. price to purchase birds a not. dont get con ok, just my 2 cents Added on May 5, 2008, 11:39 pm QUOTE(liette` @ May 6 2008, 12:34 AM) Okay, I'll be awaiting your reply. The breeder that I contacted doesn't seem interested to do business so heck him la. hmmm.... Oh, I read that Common Budgie 10-15 years while English Budgie 7-8 years. Where are you/ your breeder located anyway? I'm located in PJ. diff ppl diff preference, i prefer eng budgies then normal. bigger size then my lovebirds, im located at usj, my breeder somewhere near zoo negara, talkin bout it, need to collect my eng budgies from him. damn cute & tame eng budgies, yellow + green = lolipop colour. QUOTE(liette` @ May 6 2008, 01:04 AM) Metal bowl for food and water, put on the floor of the cage? For birds which wings are clipped, if they jump down to the floor to bathe, how are they gonna get back up to their perch? They can't fly right with clipped wings. Man, I'm blur! metal or porcelian bowl for food on the base.water u can get those water tumbler for birds & hang thru the cage, try to sprinkle some water using those ironin cloth from a distance with mist style, not those sniper style ok. clip wing also can jump or climb back to the perch la. betta bath them with some sun light like evening time, easier for ur bird to dry. make sure not too long under the sun n watch out for CAT!!!!!!!!!!!! juztiny or anyone, care to post some cage set up? i can only do it tmrw nite la since fetchin wife to work in the morning. cheers! |

QUOTE(prophet007 @ May 6 2008, 01:11 AM) lol...I am younger than you loh. haha. Smart or not smart depends on the bird itself. And as stated, diet plays an important role. Feeding solely on seeds and you can expect to say goodbye to your birdie after 5 years. no bird show la. here got this kinda show eh? didnt know.Michael, did you take your English for shows? And litte, you can always hang the cups and tubs using wires. And having a bird's wing clipped doesnt mean it cannot fly at all. Clipping the wings is like they will not fly too high but they can still flap their wings. It is very important that you only clip the first 6 feathers of the wing so as to retain their ability to fly. And budgies have powerful legs and beak. They will hop from perch to perch and beak serves as the third leg which mean they will use their beak to climb. once get back my willy will post the pic. about the diet, give them some green vege, corn n etc, protein, calsium n clean drinkin water also needed to take care beside TLC for your pets! some cuttle fish bone or mineral block also good 4 them prophet already answer you bout the cage set up & clip wing part. |

QUOTE(prophet007 @ May 6 2008, 01:21 AM) one more thing, if you use water tumbler, remember to change the water everyday. Dont think that oh, theres still water, I will wait till tomorrow. And budgies like to make soup which means they will poop in the water. forgot bout the last part on the spray, bout dont spray them suddenly.Budgies do like to bath. But dont suddenly spray on them. They will be scared to death. LOL... Mist the surrounding first then slowly change the target to the birdies. For me, I will bath them whenever I like cause I use hair dryer to dry them up. LOL..And if you have a bath tub, you dont need to mist them so often. too excited la. well i prefer au natural mr sunny side up thanks the the advise prophet007 |

QUOTE(liette` @ May 6 2008, 01:28 AM) But if you use tumbler, they wont be able to poop in it right since tumbler = bottle? watr tumbler or water bowl or even the food bowl,Bath tub u mean a bowl of water at the base? Food must be available at all times? <--nobody answer. they will still poo inside 1 la. cant be toilet train 1 la. food & water need to refill everyday. have to available 24/7 lo. well for mealworm, u need to feed them wit carrot or something nutricious for 3 to 4 day b4 feeding to your birds, u donno wat the petshop feed & dont wanna know either, betta not feed them with it, personal preference la. |
