Wow...congratulations!  Since you have 5 eggs, can barter trade with me one chick later on?  Because all 3 lovebird chicks I have are same colour peachfaced Lutino.  I would love to have a different mutation colour one. Please......

I got my 3 lovebird chicks yesterday.  Very young and lots of patience involved to hand feed those chicks though.  The food receipe that seller introduced me not welcomed by the chicks, they don't want to eat even they are very hungry, ended up I have to rush out to consult nearby birdshop owner how to handfeed the chicks.  Finally bought the Heinz brand babyfood and nestum, and the chicks are much easy to feed like that.  Phew.... sweat.gif

Just now I went to Macaw and bought 2 budgies and 1 Lutino Cockatiel.  Although these birds are not tamed, but quite surprise that they are quite calm in a way, when I clipped their wings.  Much easy compared to my previous untamed Budgies.  I think I could try to tame them especially the Budgies are still pretty young looking. Right now they allow me to touch their body without panicking.

The Lutino Cockatiel also looks quite tamable. My naughty tamed Cockatiel is keep disturbing  the new Cockatiel.  The new bird was so afraid of him.

At least tonight my tamed Cockatiel didn't make any noise screaming for our attention, as he has new friends in his cage.  thumbup.gif

Baby lovebirds still surviving.... thumbup.gif

I'm trying to put the budgies together with the tiels,  until they can't then only separate them.  So far so good!

How's your lovebirds egg?  Any egg successful hatching?
*
i guess tiel & budgies can share a same cage, since both are gentle then lovebirds.

lovebirds ok. egg need atleast 2 weeks to hatch la. will update soonest!!

Aha!  I managed to tame the new Cockatiel.  See the picture.  Seem like quite easy to tame actually.  No regrets in buying these untamed birds.  May be it's because I have a tamed Cockatiel to set the example, they all followed to trust me.

Yups, using a torch light. I also do that to check my leopard gecko eggs that way too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cages, these days not many petshops stock on bird cages coz they require space to keep and also money. Sometimes those old kinda shops have humid and wet storage, so it can cause rust as well. So these days good cages need to order. Those I meant by big ones that sometimes need stands lah.

If wanna see those that are displayed, I think Pet Safari got some nice ones.

If you go Petaling Street, can always ask. One shop owned by a guy there(not zoological pets) got a brochure on his table. You can see clear pics and order.
*
mouse, u check ur tiel's egg.
wish i got easy access to the egg,
actually bought a new nest box for my lovebirds.
wanna modified the cage, too late laid egg dy.
next round only can check see got blood vein a not la.

Get off at Pasar Seni LRT.... then walk towards Uda Ocean(I think that's the name of the building).... follow the road, can see a few petshops. You can ask the people there coz these petshops have been operating for the past 40 years....
Last time my bro bought baby african grey for RM2.7k.... summore is a timneh.... anyway, we are guessing it's a female since it is not much of a talker, very shy and a few of my Singaporean friends came over and said it could be a female. We wanted a Congo actually hahah.

My nest box is very very very cheapo.... it's a shoe box. Coz I can't find one that is long enough for my tiels, I just use a shoe box, line it with plastic board and newspaper inside. My tiels are using it pretty well. So for me checking once a while is easy coz of the large lid. I only check when the birds are out of the box.

Now I'm excited.... can't wait to see baby tiel again. The last time they had chicks was like..... in 2002....
*
show box? good idea for tiel or budgies but not lovebirds la.
i got mine from pets family @ tmn megah bout 50 bucks, its use externally, need to modified the cage a bit thot.
once the bird out then can close the hole, got top open lid aswell. easier 4 me to check the eggs.

wow hope get to see baby tiel la.
izzit hard to get offspring from tiel?
all the best la mouse!!! thumbup.gif

Thanks

Yah, tiel are not bad chewers..... lovebirds, when my bro bred his birds, he made his own nest box using solid wood. Now never breed lah but the lovebirds can destroy those cheap wooden perches in a few days. hahahah....

I think is not hard to breed tiels.... just need the proper cage, a bonded pair, and some experience....
*
that y i purposely went to look 4 the plastic box that is big enough for my lovebirds & easy 4 me to take a look at the egg without scary the female. can be defensive u know em. later dont mate or produces egg die lo.

all the best to our birds & the eggs la.

got pic of ur tiel's egg?
care to share? brows.gif
