I seen Java bikes at Meng Thai Bicycle Centre at Kota Damansara. Their site is www.facebook.com/pages/MENG-THAI-Bicycle-Centre/127000394018736

I'm new to foldie. Thinking of getting one too. That's how I got here. Always been a road bike cyclist.

Thanks for the suggestions guys... will check them out.

Hi all foldies/bikey Gurus ! smile.gif

I'm fresh to folding bicycles as I don't even have one foldie yet. I'm planning to get one pretty soon but I would like to hear more from you all smile.gif

I'm a Penangite, the island part. Here's some questions that I'm having :
1)Bicycle's Shop that sells Foldable Bicycles
(Reasonable Price & Good Service is possible)
(Best if the shop do owns those entry-level bikes)

2)Brand recommendations for freshbie like me smile.gif
(Budget below RM700, may goes up to RM1000 max)
Not really well funded yet, but hoping that price can gets me a good one.

Thanks in advance for all your replies !
*
Initially i set a budget of 500-700, but that doesn't get me much choices.. The garion (http://www.thebasikal.com/product/garion-folding-bike/) or the Raleigh UGO is quite 'Near' to that but if you raise a couple more hundred(s) you will have more choices..

if you are from Penang, check this guy out maybe? He has the cheapest Java Fit on offer : http://www.bicyclebuysell.com/item/249435/...pec-as-java-fit

Omaya brand folding bike with RM1288 worth to buy?

Or Java Fit is better? at 1688
*
ah..u are also looking at Fit?

try to compare with this and let me know what you think ? http://www.bicyclebuysell.com/item/249435/...pec-as-java-fit

It has the same spec as Fit, and both Java Fit and this XDS are made in China... the only unknown factor is the aluminium grade.

i bought my bike from online China before, quality wise is good or could be worse depend on luck  brows.gif  and a lot cheaper compare to market price here in Malaysia.
suggest you buy a reputable brand for quality wise
my opinion that foldable is not really a good deal
one thing about buying a bike online is you'll need to assemble it yourself and i tell you is not easy....  laugh.gif
from scratch like this :
user posted image
i ended up pay around rm30 for a bike shop to assemble
*
is that a java fit? drool.gif mind to share how much did u pay for it inclusive of shipping?

thanks.

the box for 20inch foldie is almost twice the thickness of road bike, but length is almost half?
and a bit taller...

so i think the vol will almost be the same maybe a bit less? or more...

can measure the box at the LBS first... then will know the exact vol  biggrin.gif
*
group buy? I'm interested on that Java fit.. sadly can't find the XDS (particularly 660, 670, 630) over in taobao..

is that mean java is better than trinx? because im a beginner the bike shop say trinx is best value but other shop said java better and of course bit expensive...i dont know just need your guide here because seem the bike weight almost the same. and some spec i see 16speed..maybe somewhere i miss

wow melaka very cheap they sell ..im here in ipoh maybe will ask the bike shop discount a bit.
*
there is a very old bicycle shop in Ipoh old town that sells xds, raleigh, hummer, etc. You can pay a visit there... i recalled they offer XDS 16 speed for 1150 or 1180....I think XDS 660 or 630 has almost the same spec as Java fit.

Hi everyone, new foldie reporting in. Wanna to say hi to everyone.

Hi suntzelee, as a new foldie rider, i recommend you get the Garion Alloy which is about RM5xx if you are looking at CronusMy shop. Or going to Ampang United Angel to look for reasonable price bike. Just my own opinion, PJ shop bike price is over my current dompet limit. Hehe

*
Hi, the FB of United Angel seems to show that they are in Kajang? Is the one in Ampang one of their branch?

To mount v- or c-brakes. But it was not used since they mounted disc brakes for your foldie instead.
