I'm not sure whether the brake pad/disc is still new, when i apply the brake it is like rubbing a piece of paper on a wood surface.. i feel that the old rubber on the conventional c/v-brakes has better 'rubber' padding feel.. DOes it need 'bed-in' time?

QUOTE(H2D @ Sep 13 2014, 10:24 PM) is it a new bike? does it have stopping power? u can adjust the pad closer to the disc, but don't let it rub when u r not braking.. i have a trinx with cheap disc brake oso... stopping power is ok, can use.. if u feel the v brake 'hole' is ugly... u can buy alu anodized cap to cover it... yes it is new, brand new not even 2km yet.. it has stopping power, just that the rubbing feeling when i apply the breaks doesnt give me a 'soft' rubber feel.. very 'metalica'..

QUOTE(desastar @ Sep 14 2014, 08:19 AM) I'm the same, serious riding I'll still use a roadbike. Foldies, just ride for fun or to somewhere that I can bring the bike with me. I will always advise to stay away from cheap foldies as they ride terrible and you won't want to ride it. for example... **cut** So how much is this bike? Free....... this lady gave it to me, she rode it twice. After I got it, went for a ride. what absolute rubbish!! Goes to show if you buy cheap it is actually expensive as you won't ride it! hahaha Hi, sorry when you say it is 'absolute rubbish', what does it mean? bike doesn't move, gear not engaged, bike going sideways? etc. Just want to know some facts.

QUOTE(H2D @ Sep 14 2014, 12:29 PM) if u eye the java, do check out xds as well... make ur own comparison... dont just base on recommendation frm ppl / bike shops... agree with H2D.. XDS 660 is having the same spec as Java fit as far as i remember... and it is few hundreds cheaper than java. I haven't ride on them to know the differences but from spec n price wise.. its worth to consider the xds..

QUOTE(cucubud @ Sep 14 2014, 05:27 PM) Went to a bicycle shop. Look see look see. Got these two brands. XDS AFB 630 - 20" wheel, 16 speed, disc brake and Nakxus 20F048 - 22" wheel, 24 speed, disc brake Which one is a better buy? [attachmentid=4133459] just for your reference, xds 630 can go as low as RM1.1K in Ipoh... I have not seen Nakxus before so can't compre. If price is about the same, then check what are the parts offered and do comparison...

i realised one thing...should the handlebar be in the middle instead of outside? If the handlebar is in the middle i think it can prevent some scratches between the bodies.. Anyway, it is already in my carboot, will try when i get home later..

QUOTE(STEVE75 @ Sep 15 2014, 07:36 PM) Mine is also Veroli bike with 22" wheel. Mine handle bar fold btw when it's folded. i think i will give it another try later one... I find it difficult to get it stands on its own while folded, the seat post doesn't help as the wheel's position doesn't support it.

QUOTE(STEVE75 @ Sep 16 2014, 03:04 PM) Ur bike dealer should hv teached u how to fold the bike during u bought it. The handle bar must be turned until the brake handle face under (face toward the ground) otherwise the handle bar it's difficult to fold in the middle. How much u bought that bike? Is it 22" wheel? I bought it @ $1,600 with free helmet & bottle handler. well they did but i just can't remember it after a few days. is a 20" wheeler.. do you think the bar is in the middle by looking at this image ? https://www.facebook.com/sbh.bicycles/photo...6723139/?type=1

QUOTE(H2D @ Sep 17 2014, 10:11 PM) have u compared this bike with java fit? i think price is about the same?? or the xds tht looks like java,,, I only compared the spec, not the actual ride. Spec wise it has 2 more gears (Shimano CS-HG20 9-speed Cassette 11-34T Vs Fit's SRAM PG830 11-30T Bicycle Cassette) , sora full sets Vs Fit's altus Derailleurs & different shifter i think, so i'm all in with that.

QUOTE(H2D @ Sep 18 2014, 10:27 AM) Bro, if u r in klang valley, jz go to pedalspot to check out d java . U r goin to pay n use the bike, others opinion is secondary. There r plenty of other bikes to choose frm. Got money?jz get java , can live wit the seat post wana save get xds. For me I donlike 451 wheels , so both out... Foldie tht can stand proper don't nid the stand under the bb. If u look at any dahon n tern u noe... Get up n go visit bike shops... seems like seat post is always the problem for less-known brands ?.. But I tried the trinx, trx , xds, and my veroli the other day, all of them have no issues of moving up and down .. I don't feel a need to push or pull at all.. Could it be a remote case where someone got a lemon and so that goes the reputation?

QUOTE(basilisk @ Sep 19 2014, 05:32 PM) wish my surroundings have such a good environment to ride. 20 years ago riding on the federal roads wasn't a concern at al.. Nowadays, the amt of dust, CO2 you suck in while riding on the main road is just unbearable, let alone the dangers one might encounters on the road..
