QUOTE(andrewhtf @ Feb 26 2014, 05:27 PM) One is KL Car Free Morning, the other is KL Xtra Car Free Morning. Oh, I see. Sharp eyes. ![]() Same? Different? The event of KL car free morning is free to begin with. every first sunday of the month beginning Jan 2014. Meanwhile this KL XTRA car free morning event is a separate event, organised IN CONJUNCTION with KL car fee morning, running on slightly different route, which i believe to join this event a certain amount of fees need to be paid. Otherwise, if it is FREE, u dont need TnC stating "NO REFUND" when one didnt pay anything, yes? |

QUOTE(etigge @ Feb 28 2014, 08:40 AM) All pedals, are standard regardless of quick release folding or otherwise. Ok, understand. Thanks Try browsing through the BBS website. Wanted a pedal with quick release just for xtra security if I happened to cycle to wrk n park the bike. P/s the MU P8 that u recommended at Kimbell, I happened to bought it. No regret at all. QUOTE(etigge @ Feb 28 2014, 06:38 PM) It was such a bargain! It is actually marked as higher spec-ed than the Speed P8 and yet Kimbell sold it at a price almost similar to it. Congrats! Hi Sifu Etigge, thanks for advice. Didn't know that it is higher spec-ed. The ride is solid. The other parts other than the pedal that I really like to change is the RD and shifter. The level 1 and 2 not shifting smoothly. Took it back to Kimbell to tune the RD. But after a few rides, the problem came back again. Worry once I change the RD and shifter, I need to change the cassette, chainset and grip too. Don't know what else must change together bcos of the compatibility issue. Any recommendation and how much would it cost? Kimbell have a pair of Shimano Tiagra shifter. Trying not to spend too much on upgrading bcos I might as well get another bike. BTW saw the Birdy Disc at GW. Very tempted to buy. Also considering Tern Verge X-10 but don't like the white colored saddle and grip. PS/ if you calculate back the added components or better ones, it's worth more than that. WTB Kinetix rims (not a standard issue now) - RM800 Biologic seat post pump - RM160 Avid levers + Kinetix brakes - no idea of the price Schwalbe tires - RM160 Shimano HG cassette (not Sunrace used now) Biologic rear luggage rack - RM190 Also the high quality lock jaw grip of the folding mechanism! QUOTE(haroldz123 @ Mar 3 2014, 08:00 AM) Hi all, IMHO I won't spend too much on front lighting unless you are going into trekking. I guess most of us are leisure cyclist and would prefer to cycle in a bright area. Thus, lighting are the extra precautions that we take for others to see us. Therefore, it is something that we must have though. Cheaper ones will do but prefer those that have blinking function. What is your preferable choices for front light? Over 500 lumen or below? Some suggested if too high, it will blindes other road user. Some suggested use mini torclight with bracket. Way cheaper than branded bike light This post has been edited by hsiman: Mar 3 2014, 08:54 AM |

QUOTE(andrewhtf @ Mar 4 2014, 01:29 PM) yeah i read that before. since i have not registered last year, i wonder if we can go in ghost ride or not ;p Stated this:- It is a MUST for all riders to wear the official event cycling jersey during the ride as well. - Riders who turn up without a helmet or official event cycling jersey will not be allowed to participate. Not allowed to ride without helmet ok la BUT no official event jersey also not allowed to participate cannot accept lo. Why must force to pay for participation as this is a fun ride and not a race? This event is suppose to be organised in conjunction with Malaysia’s 56th National Day Celebration. It should be those who want the goodie bag then pay lo. Else they prefer not to then no need lo. |

QUOTE(haroldz123 @ Mar 7 2014, 09:48 PM) My ass hurt during my first ride around my taman It's normal. As for me to avoid ass pain, I would tend to shift my ass to another position at the saddle once I feel uncomfortable rather than just sitting still n cycle. Currently cycle abt 15km each session n no pain. Maybe this distance is too short for me to get an ass pain. Is it normal? Internet said normal cos my ass stil not used to riding position This post has been edited by hsiman: Mar 8 2014, 05:42 AM |

QUOTE(ozzy79 @ Mar 11 2014, 10:15 AM) hey all I think it is advisable to use the same brand for shifter and derailleur else it will not shift as smooth as it should. This is what I was told. finally got myself a Boardwalk D8 too a couple of weeks ago... a good ride, though looking at a few upgrades to improve comfort/ergonomics: - saddle to a comfier one - the handlebar is slightly too close to the saddle to my liking.. looking to get one of those litepro handlebar stems to push the the handlebar in front a bit - probably switch to bigger tyres (Schwalbe BA maybe?). lot of bumps and hardened concrete on the roads in my area - to change the grips. however as the Boardwalk comes with a twist shifter, looks like i have to change that first.. is it possible to use another brand 8-speed shifter (e.g. shimano) to go with the Neos RD? longer-term upgrades would probably be to increase the gears to at least 16 speeds.. struggling with 1st gear up hills, and 8th gear is not fast enough going downhill.. but as that might be costly, i may as just save up for a better bike in the future This post has been edited by hsiman: Mar 11 2014, 10:38 AM |
