which would u recommend for the Boardwalk D8? say if i source a shifter thru taobao, etc.. can a novice like myself change it by referring to guides/instructions.. or do i need to get it done by an "expert" just to be sure?

Want to buy a foldable bike - checked out rodalink and they had dahon, tern and lerun. they handed me a tern brochure and the bike's all look the same - but the price seems a bit expensive for dahon and tern.

I did an online research and realised there are even more brands - lerun, trinx, giant, ori, hasa, birdy, java, doppleganger, volcano - how do I pick?!

- The person riding won't be very tall - around 5 feet and a female
- just starting out and wants to ride for recreation and exercise but wants to explore more things
- wants the bike to be portable and to fit in the boot of her myvi
- obviously the most affordable but then it depends - if it rides well, then the person will want to ride more and if it doesn't ride as well, then they will ride it less
- riding on roads and maybe slight terrain
- easy to fold
- light
- portable - may want to take it on travels

How do I pick? What do you suggest?

you must check whether there is a place to hold the brake at the fork.. If there is, then you can install disx brake

normal brake and disc brake diff.. disc brake more grippy IMO

i m using the stock brake. dont bother to change it at all.. lol..

Heard of Volt? I saw it at the bike shop in Damansara Utama. It's quite nice and light. It comes with front and back racks. It's ~RM1550. It's 8 speed. The tires are quick release so it's easy to pack away. See the link http://www.voltbicycle.es/
