so the per year follow calendar year or your card expiry date?
for e.g card expiry is 06/16..so the per year from 6/2014 to 6/2015?
*
It's 5 times per calendar year

I say listen to your wife... MH flies their 20 years old never updated angled lie flat product on a 772 to AMS. Comparing to SQ, even their older J seat blows anything MH has out of the water unfortunately.

BTW just to share, my latest redemption:

KUL-HKG-PVG (CX)
PVG-NRT (JL)
NRT-BKK (JL)
BKK-KUL (RJ)

Ticket worth: RM13,895 http://goo.gl/flights/PB3S

Asiamiles: 80,000 miles + RM1,176.49 in taxes

80*4770 = 381,600 (TP needed)
38,1600/5 = RM76,320
RM76,320-RM1,176 = RM75,143
RM13,895/RM75,143 = 0.185

18.5% return, not bad ah?

Didn't check Enrich because it would have cost 105,000 miles to redeem the same ticket.
*
Wow, very good deal indeed...
By the way you have done the redemption through 'Flight Awards – Redeem through Airline Award Request Form', right? I notice that 'Flight Awards - Redeem Online' doesn't work for Multi-city redemption right? Also, may I know how's the Asia Miles respond time? How soon you receive your confirmation?

I've tried it with Citibank before, they do try to match your account name with the name on your frequent flyer account.

Maybe Maybank doesn't.
*
Able to convert Citibank Premiermiles under my sister's name to Hilton HHonors under my name, not sure able the FFP though.

This card so easy to get? Just 30k FD pledge they will approve?
*
Unfortunately yes, that's why now they reduced the unlimited PPL access to 5 times a year!

Hi all,

Here are my MB2CP Amex and VI recent spendings in Korea. Any maths genius here can compute to tell which card has a better rate for Korea spending?

Kindly provide "workings" for your answers..  tongue.gif

Cheers.

*
Wow, you have a perfect scenario for comparison smile.gif

It should be quite straightforward right? Just use Local Currency (MYR) / Foreign Currency (KRW)

VI
1. 187.51/55,300 = 0.00339078 (or 1000KRW = 3.39078MYR)
2. 84.77/25000 = 0.00339080
3. 34.01/10030 = 0.00339083

AMEX
1. 27.13/7980 = 0.00339975 (or 1000KRW = 3.39975MYR)
2. 33.65/9900 = 0.00339899

So, it's pretty clear that VI offers slightly better rate!

But if one only spend like RM2000/month, this card clearly is not able to "give free air ticket"  sad.gif
*
But again, if one only spend like RM2000/month, he/she shouldn't even consider this card as there'll be annual fee of RM800 + GST imposed for annual spend < RM50K sad.gif

Thanks for reminding. Yes, i am aware of this
1. VI/VS - min spend of rm50k for annual fee waiver
2. 2 cards premier, VI + AR - min. spend of rm80k for annual fee waiver

In future I rather they raise the bar to waive the AF or raise the AF instead of inflate the airmiles conversion rate
*
But 4770 TP for 1000 FFP is still best conversion rate in Malaysia smile.gif

You could redeem 14k EM with 66780 TP, therefore you could redeem return economy to Penang with 12K EM (take additional 15% off if you redeem online). Refer here for more detail:

I applied again with all the salary documents etc and told the bank officer, if still not approve tell the card ppl I'm happy to pledge. I pledge 60k, they gave 90k credit limit.

I'm thinking before fd mature I'll write to them see if they allow me to change to no need pledge, or reduce my pledge. Not worth if I continue fd at board rate vs promo rate.
*
Wow, 90k is a very high credit limit. If you managed to max your limit in one go then you could get 450k TP which can be converted into 94,339 FFP miles.

THE m2premier card requirement dropped from 180k to income RM120k per annum.
the roadshow sales team told me, they now having a booth at tropicana city mall.

meanwhile, visa signature dropped from 100k to 70k.
*
Maybe MBB is too desperate to have more sign-ups considering at 2011 the requirement for VI was RM240k.

did two transactions of usd on ebay, 2 minutes apart.

the rate i got:

VI - 4.46
Amex Reserve - 4.41

both posting and transaction date falls on the same day. I guess Amex is still gives the better rate despite being 2.5% charge versus 1%
*
Please don't use MBB VI at Singapore, I swiped at Singapore last week with a conversion rate of 3.16 mad.gif
