my tarantula has been performing well...love the keys, but my alphabet A starts to fade already...emailed razersupport and they say they don't RMA for wear and tear...seeing the keys fading...my heart very pain leh...any suggestions?

i thought of changing the A key to the supplied blue colour key which would not fade...

z3r0717...did u see the post previous dunno how many pages regarding the G15 faded one? posted by me with reference to other ppl's pic. i think we malaysia G15 on the list one 99% first batch. not sure who got the later batches. cos there's no more rubbery stuff. all hard plastics. a lil cheapo look if compare the 2. LOL...
dualshock: aah...now reading ur post, i feel lucky for not getting tarantula. that adds another positive point to logitech, because they do RMA for wear and tear as long as it is still within warranty period.

anyways, i think u can try to use nail polish coating to protect the other keys? or use white marker to re-draw ur A key. 

because o2jam is not a famous game for hardcore gamers. and serious gamer like me won't even think of touching it.    tell me, how many games like o2jam which needs 8 keys simultaneous compared to FPS, RTS, RPG and racing games??? and G15 is not built for anti ghosting. tarantula said it has 10 anti ghosting keys, but some tests in china or taiwan found it only supports 6-8 (cant remember the accurate number). so just get samsung if u plan to play only o2jam for your life.

refer to my post #701 on page 36 please. read the part with the links on "Key fading" issue. read till the end of the logitech forum, then there are 2 image links for old and new batch of G15. it is not about laser cut, samurai cut or parang cut. it is the built. If yours has rubbery surface on the LCD cover, the whole G15 frame and palm rest, u are 99.78% on FIRST batch!

If yours has hard plastic feel (cheaper look IMHO), there's nothing feels like "Rubber", then most probably you got the improved , no fading batch. i wouldnt say second batch though.

TomatomanzSeedlezz. As long as it looks rubbery (u can actually touch the keyboard if u are planning to get one from the shop). If anything like that second pic, which u can see, it is like plastic...hard plastic. then it MIGHT be the improved batch.

None of us have faded keys yet (i guess). Only some suffers silver painting (around the keyboard) fading. mine has a slight sight of it too. I have been using this keyboard excessively for CSS, quake 4, and any other games for more than 5 months. No fading sympthoms detected, altho there's slight light leak on my F keys and some G keys i believe those are manufacturing defects (minor ones). Maybe those who encountered fading really fast, was those with acidic sweat. I wouldnt say our keys wont fade in the future tho.

But given that logitech covers warranty for paint fading issue, there's not much to worry. Cos as you can see, there's other so called gaming keyboards fade too. Exclude the tarantula as its major keys are not back-lighted, hence, no need for transparent keys. Which leads to 100% no fading (maybe fonts/words fade...hahaha...instead of the keys).

regarding the silver paint fading stuff, i wonder if i send it for RMA if it goes too heavy, or i will wrap it with CF stickers...cos it looked damn cool with it.

a new Logitech g15 kb user after after the model coming out for 2 years.

I have a few question:

1)is the new batch one, the backlight is abit dimmer?
2)how to use the next button on the keyboard without clicking the mp3 player? I find it abit annoying to click the mp3 player to use the forward or next button on the kb.

I am using foobar2000.

u send ur first batch RMA then they have to give u a new version of G15 cos old one EOL. LOL...yeah, dream that would happen.

i just found out the new G15 supports USB 2.0! eat that! razer... lol...

actually.....they just might... just like the case of the MX700. those mouse were having battery issues. those who sent them in after EOL for RMA got a G1000 as a replacement.

LittleLinnet: you could try and let use know. I will "discolor" my G15 anytime.

Any word on when the new g15 will be arriving?

I've never thought of buying a gaming keyboard before.

Interested to know, if I were to consider getting one, what would you all recommend for around rm200-rm300? (Err... is there any keyboards more expensive than that???  )
