if u use milo to make a chocolate cake, it will taste like milo than chocolate...u want to make sure u can try...milo flavor are heavy not light...my mother once make a biscuit using milo to replace chocolate but the biscuit taste like milo at last...so as my conclusion u need to rename ur cake not chocolate cake but milo cake...because the taste will be still Milo and not chocolate...

Milo has many ingredients inside.

Mainly sugar, then follow to Malt, and the rest is stabilizer, milk powder and cocoa powder

To make chocolate cake you will need a clean cocoa powder.

And you will say, Hey can i replace it with Cadburry? no..

If you want a firm chocolate cake, please get chocolate powder.

You say expensive? dont get from shopping mall, venture ur self in bakery shop around RM 5 you can get 500g.

and baking a 8" chocolate cake you will need like only 60g

Yes go and buy in bakery shop.

You can even make hot chocolate drink using it.

You can control the amount of sugar and milk unlike milo that has a lot of sugar and milk.

There's 2 type of chocolate powder,

Dutch Process Chocolate Powder - Alkaline process cocoa powder, Smoother and not so harsh. cause neutralize the acid and colour not so dark
Normal Cocoa Powder - Dark Brown colour, Ideal for baking, cause of acid react with baking soda to produce leveling effect

expensive yes. but ull waste ur milo if u refuse to use cocoa powder bro.

worst come to worst if u insist on making 1 with milo. do it with marie biscuit. that combo is the best. wont be called choc cake anymore though tongue.gif

If I recall, Milo is more expensive than chocolate powder

And probably you can't substitute it since the texture is not the same

And flavor too

Milo contains malt. Most cakes don't have "malt" as one of their ingredients.
