Yes if ICA approve.

2. can student get pregnant and continue studies?
Yes.

3. can student bring along spouse and live in campus? spouse is working in sg...
Most hostel no. One of the grad hostel yes, but always fully occupied.

4. anyone from business school? have interest in entrepreneurship? pm me... will be good for your resume next time
Me, me~ but if you want to scam the funds, its not legal. You are not the first to think of this. There are fine prints in place for this kind of scam already.

5. anyone from school of engineering that's good with autocad? and also fmea / materials engineering? i have a few designs in mind.. would want to get grant from singkie gomen to apply patent and sell the design off.. if u help i can give u some funds from the grant if got extra and let u be one of the patent owners (small % la) will be very good for ur resume..
Looking for cheap labour? You need to apply through the department. Students signed something not to work without approval.
*
3. PGPR can? with baby too?

4. not scam la... genuine business... looking for like minded ppl... attended n-house events... but some of the ppl there are too kiddie

5. not cheap labour.. more like mutual benefit... it is not work, u get a share of the patent and % of the grant but no salary..

NUS got grant right to their own student for entrepreneurship? Open blog sell clothes can claim or not?

no no.. nus helps to forward the grant application to the gov and incubate the business by taking 5% equity if they decides to...

u try lor... maybe can work

5. not cheap labour.. more like mutual benefit... it is not work, u get a share of the patent and % of the grant but no salary..

I don't know PGP now how already. Got two type, aircon room got attached bathroom. Normal room common bath room. To prevent pervert like bunny taking photo of girls showering in the common bath room, only one gender tenants at that floor. If couples staying at the same floor others will complain. There is one block of post grad units, I never went there but heard is like a normal HDB unit.
*
yeaps... she got the one wif aircond n toilet attached... which u say it exist at u-town only..

waaa, big sis dun bully bunny hor.... sue and bite for slander tongue.gif

hmm, i think the guard wont bother if mix for a night a two unless ur cluster mate reports on u

My brother told me that it is better to write nothing than write something irrelevant lol
*
not ssay irrelevant lar... 'exceptional talents & achievement' is very broad and vague... it doesnt specify academic or skills.. even helping out local charity will help...

to try and fail is better than not trying... like in exam, wrong answer u get 0 but at least u tried... if u didnt write anything u get straight 0

sad.gif  is she doing graduate studies? Cos PGP gives priority to undergraduate students instead of graduate students. Or, could it be that she did not pay for the deposit to continue her stay on second semester last time?

Try to appeal again. May I know, is she staying out campus now, or anywhere in the campus?  smile.gif
*
yeaps.. phd

i see, i thought they have one part for grad student? GSA?

no la.. she paid... lol

yea.. appealing... hopefully wed ppl dont take up their units.. then thurs can get it

in campus lor... pgpr..

btw, any 1 know how to get one of the incubator bungalows? for ppl under their entrepreneurship program right?

Yeah, there's only one GSA block for grad students in PGP. So do you mean that she's applying for next semester stay in PGP? smile.gif

Yup, the incubator bungalows are for NUS Entrepreneurship Society students. Do they have people staying there? I thought they usually hold their meetings or activities in that unit.  laugh.gif
but she's not staying at GSA.. dunno why..

she wants to extend her stay at pgpr now.. she's already staying there but her next sem extension is rejected...

dunno leh.. so many units... hope i can get one.. nice

Hi there!
Hmm, the Malaysian Students' League is sort of an unofficial "society" in NUS. smile.gif
It is just a platform to gather the Malaysians in NUS to bond, make friends and provide a home away from home. smile.gif
We welcome any Malaysians or Malaysia-related people (sorry for such layman terms) to join us! biggrin.gif

Do visit us @ http://www.nusmsl.org/ biggrin.gif

is it recognize by nus?

Sometimes I have to face the reality sad.gif I love Science but I have interest in Accounting too (as I took up Accounting for spm). Probably I am still bothered by the name of 'professional' sad.gif I still need some time to make up my mind D:
Anyway I will consider what you said!! Thank you!! And all the best to you!! Good luck! smile.gif

if u guys hv not realize it yet, only certain sc courses hv high demand, eg. medicine, pharmacy, actuarial sc, and a few others only... social sc is higher in demand, law, econs, accts, business courses... etc etc is even more competitive on avg

if u end up at engineering, chances are a lot of ur classmates are msians or prcs or indians... local sg prefers business subjects

also dont bother about professional or not, if u hv acca vs ntu/nus/smu bac of accts, the academic degree will be more highly sought after

recently nus & nus's entry criteria drop slightly due to competition from smu which is slightly more highly regarded locally

QUOTE(iZhaoFenG @ Apr 4 2014, 09:07 PM)
Guys, can I ask how much do you estimate for the living expense each month in NUS?

Preferably if you can break it down into:
1) Accommodation
2) Foods
3) Miscellaneous (Transport, Stationery, Books etc.)

Would be much appreciated! Thanks!
*
1) in campus 300-700, out campus 300-800
2) 300, food in campus is cheap
3) transportation not needed if u live in campus, free shuttle... unless when u go out... if u stay out campus there's a student card... others cant comment
4) phone is 40/60/100 per month

I am really not confident with the future of Science as it is not in high demand sad.gif
*
yeaps... if ur degree is from smu/nus/smu then yes... even banks hire accts grad.. lol

acca is highly look upon only in msia... coz the academic bac of acct back in msia is very inconsistent in terms of grad quality...

not say not high in demand, oil n gas and sometimes pharma still ok, or if u r into r&d.. fmcg is ok... or medical devices

any back office low value positions/processes will all be outsourced away.. too exp in sg

Just the thoughts of an idealist, but don't do what you have no passion for. Plus, remember that studying in Singapore is extremely demanding. You might burn out if you lack genuine interest.

Transport: Traveling within the campus via the internal shuttle bus is free. For traveling outside campus(bus, taxi, MRT..), around 10-20 SGD would do(I hardly used more than 5SGD per month..LOL..)

Miscellaneous:
Telephone bills(depends on you...but I think 10-20 SGD per month would do as many uses whatsapp  and line for instant messaging instead of SMS)
Photocopy of lecture notes:Price is 4 cents per page for black and white...if you're the kind of person who hates digital reading materials and prefer hardcopies like me  tongue.gif , then the expenses should be around 10SGD(depending on how much lecture notes your lecturer uploaded...)

Hope that clears your doubts  smile.gif

*By the way, Eric and I are in the same ethnic dance...make a guess  biggrin.gif.... lol!!
*
i think that's on the extreme low side...

hardly use more than $5/month? you nvr go out and explore sg during your weekends? mrt 1 trip at least $1, stepping in a cab around $4 already... how can you spend <$5?

telephone bills, that means you're on prepaid? i thought at least $30/month is needed to keep your line active?

$18 is enough to keep your line active for 180 days!!!

For the travelling fees, it really depends on your habit, some people prefer to just stay on campus instead of going out here and there
*
wow! didnt know it could last that long... probably a new plan

QUOTE(Kahsing @ Apr 7 2014, 11:14 PM)
Hi smile.gif

Like what lamandy93 said, I don't go outside campus frequently during weekends and would only go for outings only once or twice per month so it's no surprise that my traveling fees are low(and the amount is a rough estimate of the average depending on how frequent i go out and how far I went)

Yes, I'm on SingTel Prepaid and it extends the expiry date for a few months for every 20 SGD top up...
*
wasted man, young man... you should go explore n have fun... learn not only through books but by experiencing places through your own eyes... you will regret it later on..
