This is not applicable to NUS SOC where PhD students are admitted without pre-assigned supervisors. They will look for supervisors only when they have started their PhD studies. Some professors even require you to do well in some courses (especially those taught by them) before agreeing to supervise you.Yea. The admission committee most probably does not expect you to make contact with the professors but it would not hurt at all to take advantage of this.
