Thank you so much! Your breakdown is so clear and useful  biggrin.gif  So I suppose 800SGD per month would be sufficient?  hmm.gif

Btw for tuition fee loan and study loan application, is it 100% guaranteed we can get? And I actually apply for financial aid from NUS too, but still yet to hear from them. I'm wondering whether is it easy to secure the financial aid from NUS.

Oh and for the accommodation, does it already include utilities (e.g. water, electricity)? Also, we pay one lump sum amount of accommodation fees on the start of the semester?

Well, I personally prefer hard copy lecture notes too  tongue.gif  So that I can scribble and make extra notes on the side hahaha.

Too difficult to make a guess man, so many different dances! Hahahaha.

Really appreciate your estimation, so clear and very helpful!  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

Add something from my previous post..for double room(only available in halls of residence), the rates would be 1350 for sem 1 and 1275 for sem 2. Based on my experience, 800 SGD should be fine if you planned your monthly expenditure well.

NUS is quite generous when it comes to giving out financial aids and loans so it should be no problem if everything goes smoothly with the application.

Yes, you'll pay the accommodation fees for the entire semester in one lump sum usually at the first month of the semester and the fees would cover the utilities like electricity, internet..etc..however, if you're planning to have a portable air conditioner or refrigerator in your room then you would have to pay extra for the increased electricity consumption.

There are actually more miscellaneous fees like welfare, registration fees...etc to be paid at the beginning of the semester but the amount varies so I can't be sure of it..

Haha it's ok if you can't guess but glad you like the dance, the entire process was really fun!! biggrin.gif

i think that's on the extreme low side...

hardly use more than $5/month? you nvr go out and explore sg during your weekends? mrt 1 trip at least $1, stepping in a cab around $4 already... how can you spend <$5?

telephone bills, that means you're on prepaid? i thought at least $30/month is needed to keep your line active?

Hi smile.gif

Like what lamandy93 said, I don't go outside campus frequently during weekends and would only go for outings only once or twice per month so it's no surprise that my traveling fees are low(and the amount is a rough estimate of the average depending on how frequent i go out and how far I went, sometimes it's more than 5 and sometimes less)

Yes, I'm on SingTel Prepaid and it extends the expiry date for a few months for every 20 SGD top up...

wow! didnt know it could last that long... probably a new plan
wasted man, young man... you should go explore n have fun... learn not only through books but by experiencing places through your own eyes... you will regret it later on..

I agree that going outside and explore is important but that doesn't mean I have to do it that frequently(to me..once or twice per month is enough smile.gif ) and no, I don't study 24/7...lol. Different people have different ways of making their university life worthwhile, joining CCAs, making new friends, taking part in university events are also great platforms to learn new things as much as traveling in my opinion biggrin.gif

*sorry if i sound offensive...*

Hmmm but then I thought we can only check in the hall earliest at 25th of July? If I'm not mistaken.

So say if we want to join the UFO9 at 14/7 to 21/7, where should we stay?!  rclxub.gif

Hi there smile.gif You can check in as early as mid July, you just need to send an email to inform them. Like for me, I checked in to my hall at around 13th July.

Hmmm, so you paid extra?

Anyway, say if I'm not be able to join UFO9, can I still buy the tee shirt for support? Hahaha.

Yes, checking in early means you would have to pay extra depending on how early you checked in prior to the beginning of the semester. Of course you can still buy the tee shirt from us(provided we have enough left) even if you're not able to join the UFO9 although we highly encourage you to join us and have fun smile.gif

Haha senior! Thanks for you inputs! tongue.gif

I solved the photo problem and now there is another one, which is the payment. I can't seem to pay the processing fee, I was using a Mastercard Credit Card. Can I ask how did you pay for ICA SOLAR thingy last time, if you can recall? sad.gif

Btw, when did you all start applying for the tuition fee loan and tuition grant thingy? I know you have the Sg Scholarship but last time I think you did try apply also right? Can I apply them now? And about the tuition fee loan scheme, it says that it requires to take tuition grant, so do we have to apply for the grant before the loan?

Another is about the accommodation, I can apply all my choices to halls first, if they don't take me in then they will offer me residence right?

Sorry for bringing so many questions, I know I'm such one question kid but I just want to sort things out as soon as possible! sad.gif

Thank you very very much!

Hi there smile.gif Nice meeting you during the welcome tea.

I paid for my SOLAR application using VISA but mastercard should work. The website might be busy so maybe you can try refreshing the page or wait for short while before attempting to pay the processing fee again.

You can start filling in the application form for the tuition fee loan now as the deadline of the application is near the end of July. The tuition grant application will only be open during August so you would have apply for the tuition fee loan first.

Yes, you can put in all the halls of residence of your choice. If you're not accepted to any of them you will be arranged to stay in student residences.

Hope that clear your doubts smile.gif

Can I know how to apply early check-in for Halls?

Hi smile.gif. You can send an email to the admin staff of the hall you're assigned to and inform them of your check-in date and time.
