Bringing up this old thread in case anyone's searching for pest control services. Contacted Azmi and was quoted about the same amount for a double story link house as well. Good response so far.

He does not use chlorpyrifos which is banned for household use, he uses Syngenta Icon 2.5CS instead.

Don't know, didn't ask.

He's ok with the Puchong area where I live though.

When I asked Azmi he said the pesticide lasts about 3 months so the recommendation is four times per year. It's not expensive and I'm more than happy to do it every 3 months with him.

Process is straightforward ie. spray along all the edges of the house inside and outside. This is the same with all pest control as far as I know.

Just my own opinion. I prefer using traditional method rather then using poison. It will affect us one way or another or in long term. There is no 100% safe poison.

What i do is 1st seal off the doors. There are many products sold in the market now.Just stick or screw on the doors so that any pest cant get through below door.

Then seal off or put mosquito net to any ventilation holes on the sealing. Some pest do fly.

Make sure the floor is clean with no food left overs. Left over cooked food kept in refrigerator so that pests cant smell them.

Smelly garbage quickly put outside the house and closed in bin. Normally garbage in house use a good garbage bin so that no gaps that pests can smell.

Mop using dettol or serai mix with normal detergent once a week. Use pandan leave and areas which pest might be hiding. Let the pandan leave there 2 weeks. The smell will chase out any pest.

Using food grade DE outside the house. Need to repour the de if rain washed it away. DE can kill other pests like ants and termite too.

So, far very rare to see pests in my house after i do this actions.

Good advise on this.
But for garbage management, I think reducing it will be the only way, like vegetable and fruit skin(that degradable) I always dump them to nearby bush area. Bones will feed the dog/cat nearby.
Only plastic stuffs will dump. Paper will keep and sell.

Just curious, did you check for their eggs as well? If you kill the roaches but leave the eggs, they will come back no matter how many times u kill em. Get rid of the eggs and you will notice the difference. Look under on top behind.. those pesky roaches can really hide well.

I use the outdoor cockroach insecticide spray outside of my house to set a perimeter. Now hardly see cockroach in my house except for dead one outside my house. This might work for you if the cockroach is coming from outside.

my personal tips for roach control:
1) keep foods and organic material in airtight containers.
2) minimize storage of organic waste
3) control ingress points by covering kitchen and bathroom sink and drainage holes
4) start the extermination process early - if possible, when you mostly see nymphs. If you see full grown roaches it means they've likely started to breed. It takes 6-12 months for cockroaches to reach sexual maturity and they will live for at least another year.
5) maintain general cleanliness/hygiene.
6) if you see a live one, the fastest and cleanest killing method is actually diluted dishwashing liquid. Always keep a spray bottle of the stuff handy. They work faster than common insecticides and are cheaper too!

Another way to kill cockroach passively;

ISAAN:-- Jenjira Ponyong, a Prathom 6 student from Pracha-anukro Primary School, Kalasin province has invented a unique solution for killing cockroaches.

The student created the solution by experimenting with 3 basic ingredients: cement powder, rice flour and Ovaltine powder.

Once the solution is mixed it is put in a place where the cockroaches usually roam together alongside a tray of water.

Janjira summarized the thought process behind creating the solution:

1. Ovaltine powder attracts the cockroaches.

2. The rice flour causes the cockroaches to be thirsty.

3. Once the cement powder mixed with water it will become hardened and caused death to cockroaches.

Comparing to general pesticide, her solution does not use any chemical which will contaminate the environment or affect people.

Not to pour cold water on this, cement actually are a cancer causing agent, at least for cement that made in Malaysia sweat.gif
Rather than we attract pest, prevent them would be better.

I use borax and icing sugar. Mixture of 1:1 ratio.

You see many dead bodies after few days to a week.

faster than cockroach spray as long as not overly diluted. Most important is you must spray enough to cover and wet their entire body (basically soak them), the idea being that you want to clog their breathing holes and suffocate them.

ps. I've not tried before but maybe you can use a super soaker gun and fill it with dishwashing liquid smile.gif

any pest control can recommend? need to get rid of tiny cockcroaches, silverfish, spider, ants, and potentially termite, etc...

how pest control is done? just get rid at the moment they come? or something is applied to prevent those insects coming back again?

how frequent pest control actually needed? once per year?

My suggestion is to request pest expert. They're better to work with the true insect exterminator and know the traps of applying it in the correct territories to expand its impact.
