screw that 'huge' news, if rvp/wenger himself doesnt come out and talk about it, i'll treat that like any other transfer stories: most likely bullshit.

tactics, can discuss. but spats between clubs? sure as hell wont be an agreeable discussion, it'll turn into a debate with no one wanting to lose.
so let's go tactics. i think liverpool used the same tactics before, i.e. blitzing our defence with SASAS's speed and coutinho/gerrard's through passes. worked as well with those sturridge chances early in the game, i was close to swearing when sturridge got that chance early on. if we conceded those we might've seen another repeat of the mauling. i think what's different with our tactics was simply fresher players + more direct gameplay. with only ozil as the playmaker we played with only one mastermind, as when we play ozil+cazorla+wilshere we tend to overcomplicate things. this is okay earlier in the season because ramsey made brilliant runs to finish the complicated moves, and giroud was always there to support the attack with his strength. but now those two are out (giroud's kinda out by means of form), so playing more directly might be better for us. the only problem i see now is how to start poldi/santi. with giroud in his form i'd like to have a clinical finisher like poldi on the field, but you dont simply drop our best player of last season. AOC needs to be played on the right, as far as i'm concered with theo out he's an automatic starter there. so who would you rather play against bayern, santi or poldi on LW? and let's not talk about poldi in ST, it's been said too many times and wenger just doesnt like poldi playing there. |

kinda feels like mertesacker and koscielny have gotten way better since our last defeat against bayern, but they're too strong so i think they'll score one goal. i'd take a 0-0 anytime tho, we need to keep the away goals at a minimum

i like to thrash ozil too when he's not performing, but you cant blame him in that game. he had a youngster in front of him who can't hold up the ball, and you cant expect him to since he's so young and inexperienced. and he tried his best to defend, albeit with so many mistakes. i thrash talk him a lot, but this performance doesnt deserve another thrashtalking.
if anything i blame our lack of striking options. why the heck do we have to resort to a youngster to lead our line against the fkin champions of europe? |

i think he likes giroud/sanogo/bendtner's playstyle more as a ST than poldi. i'm deducing that wenger likes his strikers to go deep and help the midfielders keep possession rather than just waiting for the ball to come so that he could finish. rvp could do both which was a bonus, while giroud/sanogo/bendtner can only do the main task, while poldi/walcott only do the secondary task best.

ozil is not starting.
on one hand, he needs the rest. on the other hand, resting him right after that penalty miss will deal a massive blow to his confidence. but the good thing is, santi is playing CAM, and we have the chance to possibly see 2 players out of poldi/AOC/gnabry start on the wing! |

only thing i can say is that fabregas is the first star level player that has arisen from Arsenal since i start supporting. bergkamp was already old and henry was already a made star when i started. i started supporting arsenal after playing as them in fifa 97, but i was too young and had no means to watch arsenal games so can consider casual fan. only around 2004/2005 i got astro so can watch more frequent.
