See doctor every month? You get a yeast infection on a monthly basis? Then you should really go and see a Gynae or two to get second opinions.

If you're just asking for yeast infections in general, google up. Lots of info online. Try garlic or plain yogurt. Also check which supplements you might want to consume to prevent future recurrence. You can also get over the counter cream/meds from pharmacists at any pharmacies. Cream works almost overnight imo but more expensive.

The doctor should have given you some meds then, no?

Well, just google up and see what you can do to clear it off quickly and prevent future recurrence. Consume less sugar.

How serious is the infection until you see the doc every month? o.O

But frankly i think you should pay attention to your lifestyle & eating habit.

When you have strong determination, you will able to do it

for example, just example, if you do this for 'him' , you will able to hold yourself not even touch sweet food
or just think for your good health wink.gif

Got it once last time..Saw an obgyn who gave me antifungal med.
sorry i forgot the name.. but the med is quite expensive and i only took it twice for a day then it's gone already

In the meantime, you can practice really good hygiene such as washing up everytime after you go toilet..then make sure u dry yourself well.

Don't stay too long in a hot / stuffy area because humidity makes it worst.
That's how i got mine last time

Personally think any gyne will do. I used to have a very bad vagina yeast infection (itchy and smelly) last time. Went to see gyne once and he prescripe some cream for me to use twice a day. I got better after finished the cream.

On side note, did you drink cold drinks frequently?

Fluconazole is one effective anti fungal medicine.

If fluconazole does not work, the doc might give you some other stronger -azole medications

you've gone to see the gyno every month? good grief I think you're overdoing it. A yeast infection is uncomfortable, but not necessarily a terrible thing unless you have the kind that is immune to remedies.

It has nothing to do with your diet, and more to do with your genital hygiene. Have you tried over the counter remedies? Otherwise, you should have been prescribed something for the infection.

You've been having it for a year? I can't imagine how uncomfortable it has been for you.

How is your lifestyle? How often do you shower? How do you clean your private area? What type of panties do you wear? Do you wear pantyliners? Do you wear tight pants/shorts?
Maybe you can google up on some of the habits to prevent yeast infection and change accordingly.

dear, i hv totally change my lifestye:

How is your lifestyle?
Previously, i will eat ice cream every week, now no longer touch ICE CREAM cry.gif

How often do you shower?
1-2 times/day

How do you clean your private area?
Doc advice not to use the vaginal cleaness product, oli normal water

What type of panties do you wear?
Now oli ah mah cotton panty

Do you wear tight pants/shorts?
No longer wear jean/ pant, all change to dress/ skirt nw

Erm.. i google up since last year.. i think i m the 5% of them who get the recurrence yeast infection..
Now i just try any product which they say useful for women..

I will u all know once i really get the remedy & cured from it^^
I believe that many woman hv the same problem like me

I will try not to think so much & relax myself^^

Thanks for all the concern..

If you're yeast infection is coming quite often, please to get a few doctors opinion on it. Curing the problem is of lesser importance than finding what is causing it in the first place IMO. Get the root cause, treat it and hope it doesn't come back anymore.

If you're looking for gynecologists in KL, you can try Gleneagles in Jalan Ampang or Universiti Malaya Hospital in Jalan Universiti. Both are good hospitals with reputable doctors.

I really think the doctor was right when the doc asked u to just relax..guessing you are experiencing major stress that contributes to the infection
but its normal for females not to realize they are heavily stressed ~!

got infected twice (heavy growth infection) due to stress and it did stop once you actually accept and not to feel bothered so much. Of course I know the agony of having to bear with it..it doesnt have to do with your hygiene all the time and it stressed you out unknowingly.

plain yogurt works for me, clotrimazole too..continue what you are practising and please stop thinking about it in order for you to be okay ! I wish you well dear

Thanks dear.. i tried to relax & not to think too much.
Frankly, i ever cried because of this problem, & always try to find the remedy to cure it. I always browse online how to cure vaginal yeast once i m free. Mb i m too over .. rclxub.gif

I used to get infected once in a while but after taking kefir I hardly get it. I discovered that it was due to the pantyliners. Even when I changed the pantyliner during the day I still got the infection. Stop using pantyliners if you are using one.

Why don't you try taking kefir or yogurt.

Yes store bought ones are very sweet. I make my own; they are plain and sourish unless you mix with fruit juice. I use kefir in some recipes too. You could try making kefir or at least yogurt; those sweet stuff are not good when you have yeast infection.

Not really. It's actually recommended not to use pantyliners but to wear cotton panties as it is breathable. Pantyliners use only the ones that are breathable.

Again, different girl different. Some will never get yeast infection no matter how tight they wear or what panties they wear. Some will get yeast infection no matter what they do.

I use it daily though and yes, easier to wash panties and keep my panties in better condition too. But I was told it's not good, especially for those who are prone to infections.

Basically imbalance of the bacteria in the vagina. Anything that holds in heat and moisture (not breathable) is gonna make the healthy bacteria in the vagina turn upsidedown.

nod.gif ok understood a bit.
but this yeast can happen to both men and women. So what I get is... we need good undergarment (that have good ventilation lol), hygience (sweat and clothing issues), diet.

Thank you Bunny! wub.gif

Some say going commando will help too. Keeping the area dry is most important la. Male version of yeast infection I'm not very familiar, but IINM, it can be transferred by sex too.

I know this hamsap uncle go massad center "pull nerve" then kena yeast infection. The thingie got tiny red spots on the tip area and very itchy. He used apple cider vinegar, garlic, yogurt all no use, then when doctor gave wide spectrum antibiotic, become ok.

Because the antibiotic too strong, it also kills good bacteria and he got diarrhea for the duration of the antibiotic treatment laugh.gif

Panty liners encourage bacterial growth because of dampness.

Can try fluconazole 150mg tablet (just a once off dosing), or clotrimazole vaginal cream/pessary (concentration differs depending on length of treatment.

Edit: forgot to mention, there's probiotics specifically for our ladies part eg Inner Health Candex.

Been taking fluconazole for the past few weeks but the itchiness is still there and recurring almost every month. Went to see the obgyn twice also and it got better for awhile but few months later it flares up again. I'm taking probiotics on daily basis but is there any other options i can go for?
