Very subjective ... depending on what background of each family ? And also your financial capabilities ? Ego on both sides ? Many want a "glamour" wedding but cannot afford it, hence paying though their noses after. I do not think is quite possible or even realistic for a normal salary household to come up with a RM1.5k table, unless they have very good background support.
I have a friend who did <RM30k for their whole wedding (non include honeymoon), and another who is more then >RM500k as there are quite afew datuk involve ... both in KL. Do not that both of these guys earns 7 figure per annum and below age of 30.

don't worry about the financial aspect of it. so let's say a table costs around rm1.5k. If I'm inviting 200 people, that mean 1500 x 20 = RM30,000.

and that's just the dinner costs! haha..

RM30k for whole wedding? I think that's affordable.

Thanks.

that's a lot. Yeah, KL is more expensive. Any nice hotels for wedding lunch / dinner receptions ?

But the wedding dinner in KL its not going to be a grand occassion. Maybe 20 to 30 tables coz majority of my relatives are in Kuching.

Well, most of the famous 5 star hotels are decent, somehow all weddings in KL hotels look the same to me tongue.gif kinda boring theme already ...

Personally wanted to do a cruise wedding, but not sure where or which ship I can get in local waters.

Dont forget 10% service charge and 6% government tax

Rm30000 + Rm3000 + Rm1800 = RM34800

Are you only considering hotels for the wedding dinner?

How about at a restaurant? Price per table there would be lower than at a hotel.

But the vibe and atmosphere at a hotel will be better.

This thread might be able to help if you're looking at lunch or dinner outside from the normal banquet hall dinner.

Also take note that some popular restaurants/hotels may need you to make advance booking to get your dates. Some even up to 1 year in advance.

Yeah. I think hotels are more vibrant. Only lunch reception in restaurant. laugh.gif

Ah nice, thanks. My friend did an outdoor wedding at Cyberjaya Resort or Cyberview lodge resort? Can't remember the name.

Tentative date is probably Dec 2014 or June 2015.

it's Cyberview lodge resort.
Anyhow, if got budget problem, just go for Chinese Restaurant rather than hotel.
Some even do catering at house only.

Cool... Wedding are the most beautiful thing in your life and I manage get hold of my friend to handle my wedding. She is wedding planner and helped me out to prepare a beautiful wedding with less than 30-35k. I would like to intro her to you, call them for advice. They took care of the sound system, DJ, Deco , design and the printing of the wedding card, and suggested the affordable venue according to my budget and dream wedding

I just want to know how much I should spend. I mean I have more than enough money to spend but it doesn't mean I want to spend all my money on a wedding.

I did mine overseas. Good excuse not to invite too many people. Nice and small wedding.
