No, I'm not asking for full channels but their ad has been quite misleading, leading to people thinking whatever Byond customers get, Njoi gets too.

How come you are charged RM 50 for the switch?
Back 2 years ago, when I switched from Astro to Njoi, over the phone, it was free of charge.
And yes, it finally relieved the burden of being forced to pay Rm 100+ per month for repetitive crap.

Now considering to subscribe to HBO channel .
Anyone can comment about the HBO channel?

Yes good question. The story is like this:
You see last time when we first joined Njoi, there was no HBO channel. No movie channel at all.
Only Astro Best and Astro first.

So my wife being a movie fan, decided to depend on Astro Best..
Then later we decided to buy and use TV Box ( we bought a rather cheap TV Box from Lazada. So it doesn't come with those illegal ASTRO channels)
And the TV Box came preloaded with Cinema HD App (and a few apps to stream movies).

So now the issue is how good is HBO compared to "Cinema HD" .
Of course Cinema HD gets fresh and latest movies. While HBO will get slightly outdated movies.
But Cinema HD is like Torrent - It needs to depend on the source its sharing. And can be slow sometimes.
So is it worth paying RM 30 /mth? Direct from satellite vs Internet video streaming. Outdated movies (but watchable) vs new movies and on the fly selection.

If i recall, have to follow your bill cycle, and then after end of your bill cycle then only switch over.
Please correct me if I were to be wrong. I also was hoping it was immediate.
Maybe you need to check back with Astro how long it takes to convert.

And last time they counter offer me - something like 40 channels with some HD, for special monthly subscription RM 60 per months, only offer over the phone.
I still say No to the offer. Its like as though they wanna do customer retention.

Today tried to use the free 10 min preview for Korean pack..
using Whatsapp and SMS 2 times, total 3 times, cannot work.



Call to ASTRO hotline, ask me try again tommorow and "if still cannot work, call us again".
Dear Astro, if your so called preview doesnt work , dont bother putting such option.


You're not sincere to give free preview for even 1 minute , just to allow customer to decide whether its worth subscribing or not.

Its so bloody obvious how Astro is (ill) treating NJOI customers. Yes we are sort of - non paying customers majority.
But we are still a customer.

So happen few days ago I wanted to try a new channel and I stumbled upon Discovery channel.
So I went into CH 200 and wanted to try the free preview. Its approved even (via whatsapp).

So i inquired to ASS-tro on why their free preview does not work. Here is my enquiry.
"Recently I wanted to try a free preview for Discovery Asia channel however I couldn't. To add things , the message "Sila tonton Pek Discovery Asia di TV anda selepas *10 minit.*" is very misleading. If I waited after 10mins then my trial period will end and I won't get to watch at all. Are you guys sincere in giving free preview? to me its a deciding factor whether I should subscribe to that channel."

And this is their lame and annoying reply.



Come on, ASS-tro. Its just only 10 mins , not 1 day even. But weirdly, previously I was able to get free preview on other channels.
In the end I gotten fedup, I decided not to subscribe to their Discovery channel. Because their mentality is - No free watching , if you pay, then yes .

And this is why some turn to Android Box. Everything also want to calculate.

Today 30th November.
Out of sudden just now at 8pm when I turn on my Astro decoder (Its originallly from Beyond),

at first it was showing "No information".

Then I cycle power off and on the power adapter.
The red light just flash on and off.
Press power button on decoder , on the remote also no reaction on the Decoder.
Nothing on the TV.

Does that mean my Decoder has just died? No lightning strike whatsoever.
But before its death, i notice each time I watch my Astro - it will randomly suddenly "Service currently not available" even though on sunny day or no rain at all .

Edit: I found some links for those can repair the decoder. I dont wanna spend RM 300+ just to change a brand new decoder. No no
