buy dish online or find friend that gave up on Astro or Njoi completely and take their dish.
for me, I just activated my old multiroom decoder for njoi. Although they said its activated online but when I plug it in it doesn't work. Luckily I have my main pvr decoder.

Arghh. I activated it yesterday and they approved it today. I saw a new account number in my account tab in the website.
but then I haven't receive any email. I plugged it in but not a single channel is available. I assume I need to receive the email first.
if everything is fine I will give it to my grandma. Btw, this is my old multiroom decoder.

Do you even understand doh.gif
Composite only output video using the yellow cable
While component output the video using three cables which makes it better
Red Green Ble= RGB cable= 3 cables= Video output only= Better quality.

Using my old Multiroom Pace PVR at my grandma's house. Just got the dish installed by a seller on lelong. Good enough for my grandma. According to Astro.com.my/epg , NJOi decoders aren't suppose to receive the new epg. But I just put it in standby mode an hour ago and it updated itself to new Epg. Sadly no recording service to test it out and no HD services nor do my grandma has a HD TV. She has a 90s CRT TV. Meanwhile my main Samsung PVR decoder still hasn't receive the update -.-

Awesome! Previously, I've heard that NJOI only works on the standard composite / component cables but it's definitely great if the HDMI port can finally be used as well.  rclxms.gif

Are you using a Beyond decoder?
*
I think new EPG enables HDMI port. As I'm able to set the HD resolution although I'm not using HDMI port. SD channels would still be in SD though. I think many NJOI users are complaining because modern TVs either have no Composite/ Component port or have one only. That's the reason they enabled HDMI port. Gonna HDMI to DVI cable to my grandma's house to be tested on a 1080p monitor.

QUOTE(FusioneX @ Mar 27 2014, 11:58 PM)
From what you are saying, it seems that the ability to receive the EPG update depends on the type of decoder you are using. You might be on the NJOI package but the decoder is still a PVR decoder. From what I know, the new NJOI decoders that that new subscribers can buy looks different from our older decoders.
*
Those who own Astro Byond (Pace manufactured [First Generation Byond or Byond PVR] or Samsung Manufactured[Byond Second Generation, PVR second Generation]) or Refurbished NJOI decoders(Pace manufactured Astro Byond 1st Gen) or NJOI Zapper (Samsung manufactured Second Generation Astro Byond decoders) can receive new EPG. In other words, all Byond decoders can receive the new EPG

Mine is refurbished set. I believe it should be DMT IV STB which got recording and IPTV features
*
Can you show us a picture of it?

QUOTE(mun88 @ Mar 28 2014, 09:58 AM)
are you sure HDMI port can use ? i will try tonight.
one more things is i not happy with njoi. if i never use for 1 month ++ my card will inactive, need to call  customer service to active again vmad.gif
*
Pretty sure as I'm able to set HD resolution in the menu. (although I'm not using HDMI cable) Previously on old firmware, NJOI users are not able to set it.
Do you have another main Astro subscription, that's why you don't watch NJOI right? brows.gif (Just like me but the NJOI decoder is for my grandma)

This is Pace decoder 1st Generation Astro Byond.
it can record programs using an external WD 320GB HDD provided you have the RM5 recording services which is only available for normal Astro services. No IPTV function for this decoder FYI although it has a LAN port
It is suppose to receive new Astro EPG which enables the HDMI port as output! thumbup.gif

Pace Astro Byond: 1)Turn off your decoder
2)Plug it in and press Channel + and Power button on decoder repeatedly until u see auto update on screen.
Samsung Astro Byond/ zapper: Refer to Astro Byond Episode VI in LYF. Search for the last 10 page of it

U sure? you mean after you upgraded to 1.79?
*
1.79 is bootloader version.
The new interface/EPG/UI you having now enables HDMI port on NJOI decoders. Just plug it in and ready to go.

Where got HD in NJOI. you can only connect with HDMI cable with that bootloader and yes thats the new version
*
Nope thats not bootloader in update screen. My bad my bad. It's hardware revision. I compared three decoders to realise that sweat.gif notworthy.gif

Since the "Record" function is available, i wonder if one can pause live TV too? hmm.gif
*
Nope. Tested a lot of time with my Pace PVR

QUOTE(chokia @ Apr 1 2014, 07:27 AM)
Your software already up to date and you can have HDMI connection. (previously HDMI cable not working need to use yellow red white)

But NJOI doesnt offer High Definition (HD) channel yet like Astro Byond.
*
It's not UP to date yet. That's the old UI!

QUOTE(mun88 @ Apr 1 2014, 09:03 AM)
HDMI enable only give us better picture quality. but i hear in future NJOI customer also can watch some HD channel
*
Perhaps as they have already enabled the HDMI port.

can the njoi card use for different decorder? i got two decorders at home. plan to convert only one to njoi . currently both my smart cards can switch for both decorders without problem .
*
QUOTE(FusioneX @ Apr 28 2014, 01:33 AM)
As far as I know, the NJOI service is tied both the smart card and the decoder. I.e. you can't use one without the other.

I've tried using the NJOI smart card in my friend's Astro PayTV decoder but it didn't work. There was a message on the TV asking me to "insert the correct Astro smart card". Likewise, I've tried doing the opposite by using my friend's PayTV smart card in my NJOI decoder and it didn't work either.
*
You can switch smart cards for Non-Beyond decoders. For beyond decoders you can't. They have locked it down because they want you to subscribe multiroom.

Try using other HDMI ports and use other devices to try out.
Try other cables also.

HDMI port will only be enabled for certain decoders such as those 'beyond/PVR decoder'.

If you get decoder with model number of SMT-S5040/AST made by Samsung, I am sorry to inform there is no OTA update that enables the HDMI port for this model.
*
So its only for Pace decoders?
