Good evening LYN readers.

I am here to share my experience with Lim Tayar TTDI~~~~ (TOTAL RUBBISH)

I was at Lim Tayar on the 29th January 2014 to remove some nails on my tyre in the morning. Just like normal I sat there and waited for my car to be fixed.

5 minutes later, one of the mechanics said, Boss can come over for a moment. hmm.gif So I walked to my car...

First of all he told me, my back tyre was unusable cause it has reached its marking line...which was true. Second thing he told me was, Boss the tyre you use

"Chappalang brand" - aka "tyre celup" hmm.gif I was thinking to myself, what the bloody fool is this idiot talking here. I was using Kumho Ecsta SPT which

is not bad and pretty well known in the market. But fine....he said the front one was damaged by the nails as well. So I said oh well change all four tyres then to "YOUR" recommended tyre.

They gave me a set of Continental CC5 tyres... (A FREAKING JOKE IMO) shocking.gif

Ok FINE...I will go with the tyres anyway. The car was completed about 45 minutes later and the worker told me "KAO TIM BOSS". I drove it happily away to my university...

Got off the car and looked at all four tyres.... unsure.gif It was lacking of air in all four tyres. Ok still fine with me, told myself to pump later after my classes.

Went to a petrol station and filled up all the tyres...The front tyres was at 140kPA and the rear....I dont even wanna mention... Getting me pissed off a little bit.

Drove home happily again...parked my car got off the car and saw one of tyres looking a little flat AGAIN~!!!! I WAS @#$%^ Chinese New Year was round the corner!!

I had to constantly pump air for the back tyre every FREAKING 12 HOURS so I can drive my car around!!! mad.gif I WAS SO MAD I DECIDED TO CHANGE TO MY SPARE TYRE ON FIRST DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!

Today I returned to Lim Tayar TTDI again!!! to ask them to fix my problem. One guy came and took the back tyre to check and I waited...After the guy was done repairing it, he didn't even bother to tell me it was done...I was still waiting shocking.gif Until the boss came over and say your car is ready....

THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IS NONE OF THEM EVEN SAID A WORD OF APOLOGY mad.gif MAKE ME GO THROUGH @#$% DURING MY FESTIVE SEASON AND I GET THAT IN RETURN shocking.gif

CONGRATULATIONS LIM TAYAR TTDI~! YOU HAVE JUST CREATED ONE ANGRY CUSTOMER!!

so what was wrong with your tyre? Why the need to pump air every 12-hrs. Faulty Valve?

What was your tyre size and how much did they charge you?

Any famous camber tricks?

well, maybe is just your bad luck, I did mine in Bandar Selayang Baru (BBS), find a guy name Alex... responsible mechanic...

i had same experience with assholes Mechanic...
My car can't seem to accelerate much, no matter how much pressure I step on it, the car still no kick..

I went to the workshop and ask why, then one head of mechanic with his bulldog face (referring to same branch at BBS) told me it was my tire problem, cheap tires, then say it's my break pad as well... I kept silent and ask him to suggest, he ask me to change my tires, breakpad and overhaul my engine. which cost more then RM 6000.00.

I was like No way, crazy...

end of the long story, one mechanic name Alex look at my car, test drive with me, and honestly telling me that... he don't really know what was the problem too, but should try to slowly rectify. so he told me to change my engine oil, (I just changed mine within 1 month) but looking at the cost of rectifying the problem is about RM 180.00. I go with it.

End of day, just because the engine oil was the issue, it was still see thru quality, but somehow it affected the engine.

Moral of story, get a trusted Mechanic and let them help you check.
Do 2 - 3 checking and never tell the new mechanic your issue else they will base on the facts you given and they will act upon it.

You can also write to Lim tayer management and launch a report.

Nowaday hard to find trusted mechanic or workshop. Their advice may be true or may be business tactics (earn more from your pocket).
Being conned by a trusted mechanic before which spend 1k plus to overhaul engine (he suggested) after one week, issue come back and went back to demand to recheck, told me need to unmount engine again which will cost me another 800 (so call discounted labour charge). He suspected another part cause this issue. but i demand free of charge, he just leave me alone and attend another customer.
Lesson learned, prefer go to proper service center, even though bit expensive but its repair job, spare part and labour charges are clearly stated with warranty. At least not the best choice but is better one

The TTDI branch has been there since mid 90s, I think.
I still remember I repaired my Saga there, so I had to wait hours for a very simple repair. It's true, if your car is not expensive brand, you will be second class customer.
I never go there again.

Customers who send to lim tayar ttdi are insensitive priced customers.. So as owner of the workshop, what better opprtunity than to just con ur customers saying this n that rosak, need replacements. I see alootttt of recon car owners sending their car there and i believe they are the type who just send the car there n repair/replace whatever the mechanic said must be replaced.

Conclusion.. Dont ever go to a really big big workshop in an area which is quite well known as abit 'atas' area.

It's not about the car you drive, it is solely due to unprofessionalism on them itself !

Plenty of bad experiences shared on web. Avoid them like the plague. Rather travel further to Segambut or USJ to get my tires fixed or alignment/balancing done although both places are further. At least experience and customer service (plus prices too) are way way better.

I think the shop don't really care whether people with non expensive cars want to be their customers or not. They know that they will always have rich customers who drive nice cars visiting their shop.

i too had several bad experience with this shop. they will recommend you to change anything and everything. they use to be my family mechanic bout 15 years back so i trusted them. when i got my first car in college i start to keep receipt then start to notice that got patern.

so i ask the supervisor (skinny guy, hunch-back abit) why keep changing this part, he tell me some cock stories so i still not happy i confronted the big boss (this plump chinese man wearing glasses, wear different shirt compare to other supervisor) told him that been given bad and wrong advise, he can say to me "eh your father come here for many years adi, u think i want to bluff you ar". i refuse to pay, i left and went back to the place with all my receipt and my father as well.

and this time i took back all the receipt for both my parents car. when we got there the skinny supervisor start accusing me for not paying, then say i accuse him of lying etc. tha time i dowan talk to him any more we went straight to talk to the boss. fatty still can defend the supervisor and try sweet talk my father, say im small kid dono anything, got misunderstanding bla bla bla. i open all the file and receipt ask him see himself.

obviously the findings was really bad. we were changing so many things without knowing. after calculating the figure was in the 5 digits over the course of 5-7 years.

they offered my dad a cash settlement and we never went back there again. although i still see the same guys there when i passby.

really unethical business running there.

When going to a tire shop, always set your priority and goal. Tire eat nail means pay rm5-10, take out the nail and seal it back. Case close.
Don't ever listen to the workers bullshit.
Tire shop's attitude are same as acc shop, can slaughter means they will slaughter.

Lol. Maybe it is just because it is convenient as it is located around a big housing area...So people tend to seek them cause they are not located as far as the other tyre service centers.

I realize, after for more than 20 yrs staying in city (study and work), there are few places i will avoid to go for tyres, repair or any mechanical issue, which are subang, bangsar, damansara and now adding one more, kota damansara. But even you go segambut, puchong or even klang, same shxt happen as well. I will never go to that tyre shop, workshop or acc shop if without friend who knows the shop owner or mechanic. Especially most of us know not much about car and most of the time, rely on the mechanic to tell us what to repair or parts to replace. Moral of the story, do ask around or at least, search from internet first before you go, otherwise, be prepared to be slaughtered and your car's problem can't be solved after that....

Lim Tayar SS2,

Drove in with my Pug 407 last time and inquired whether they are familiar with pug's engine as my engine had a low funny screeching noise. Young lansi guy said in a very rude way " if you no trust us, you come here for what "

Really funny. I straight go to customer service counter and gave them my proton's number, my wife's myvi number and three other company's car number. Told them to take all cars out of their database and if they send service reminders ever again, i will go back and raise hell.

As the mechanics who recognised me sensed something wrong and tried to rectify, that guy still have the nerve to say " i say one word only, why you so lansi"

I just laughed and said bye bye.

Not exactly true...only Kia salesman make up such stories to sell more cars. When you go hunt the parts, then you know.

Matrix true also. And i almost forgot to mention that they do not keep to their promise, morning promise can deliver the car by 3pm, den at 2 something they say delay until 5pm, coz need to order one of the part, fine. When around 5pm i drove my friend to pick up car, sitting inside their reception to collect car at least 1 hour, one of the indian guy came and say they could not find the parts and other supplier only can deliver 2moro morning. Then they say can only take the car around 10am.

Thats really piss us off and i told them why you din inform earlier and the time promise u keep change and now waited one hour u told us no parts. That is when they say coZ picanto parts really hard to find, thats y cant prepare on time.. Realky wtfff

I have to agree and add I was ripped off too. I told them I was a regular Lim Tayar customer and usually went to the SS2 branch. They said they had my records. The SS2 branch was always reasonable in their charges but I was ripped off here - when I checked to confirm prices I found I was charged RM117 more per tyre. Thoroughly disgusted!!

Beware! this shop (LBH tyre service sdn bhd - uptown damansara utama) will con the extra charge over normal retail price. I did changed my car tires there last week (October 2015), after 3 days, I found the retail price should be RM155, but they simply con me for RM205 for it!

This shop has big Continental Tyre signboard. Corner shop, and beside RHB bank.

Went to do my balancing and alignment in August 2015. It took 2 hours to do mine. No doubt that my chamber were all out, but that was ridiculous long.

Spoke to the so called person in charge, he was from the other tyre shop and the owner of this shop asked to revamp it.

While waiting for the job to be done, I noticed they didn't keep much stock and price definitely is higher than what has been posted on the net.
