I think they are only starting to edit the site hence putting it as "Out of stock" just to be safe.

Anyway instead of bricking, I went and DIY this yesterday (posting pics since someone said I haven't posted pics in a long time tongue.gif).

Took me around two hours mainly because of the measurements which took some time to calculate. Now that I have the measurement template, I can do it for the rest of the series. The only thing that needs fixing is to move the left and right brick of the second row a little inner. laugh.gif

hoping does not mean it happen. i also wish lego re-release modular like green grocer, market street and cafe corner.

since this is retired set. if u like it might as well get it. don't just wait till other grab it. only to moan and groan later.

or unless u got alternative solution bring it more cheaper price that is better still. fyi this old set released 27 Mar 2009. almost 6 mths before the lego modular fire brigade. we all know it cost sky rocket high after retirement.
*
lego SW known for many re-release set.. not like modular..

QUOTE(yhlee12 @ Mar 17 2014, 12:46 AM)
ordered?  brows.gif
unlike modular, have seen TLG re-issue a number of SW sets... it's just a matter of time... there are lots of other interesting sets to look for, instead of chasing retired sets...  icon_rolleyes.gif

not odered..just sharing info..seacow is under my 2015 list..hahah

agreed on the modular..

For Modulars or UCS sets, chasing the few previous current sets; after a while its not worth it to chase the old.  The prices are over-aggregated and most of the time over inflated.  Besides being a good "Show and Tell" piece for elite few, for most of us is very hard to justify the cost to acquire it.

Anyway, with the re-released versions or new sets is always much improved with more details.  Might as well shoot for those current new sets.  Just have to be patient, scout around and see what comes along.

good point!

Nope... you guys all wrong it is this set... 6285: Black Seas Barracuda - Yup I saw this set in BBT Gardens... but that was like at least 3 years ago... not sure anyone would have bought it... hahaha...

I clearly remember it was labelled "Legends" somewhere on the box...

And at that time it has drawn to me... that I should have bought a few more pirate ships... the worst part is when I decided to do that and then come POTC series... and always bad timing... always ran out of spare cash to buy extra Black Pearl or the QAR... if not... I would have make a killing now... hehehe...
*
cant see any 'legends' at the box for set 6285.. it was release in 1989

it was re-release as set 10040 in 2002 and yes can see the work legend in front of the box

I wonder why the inside view of the box shows a ship with black & white sails instead of red & white?  hmm.gif

If you ask me, I prefer 6243 Blackbeard's Bounty which looks more realistic. I guess designer for 6243 had more variety of parts to use, compared to 6285 which was released 20 years earlier.  thumbup.gif

it comes to a point most of all ppl would want to have perfect box if possible. nevertheless since item ship from overseas. do expect some minor creast. but usually with good handling. the scratches, friction and creast will be very minimal or negligable.

ok then i have a question. what about sought after sets like the so talked about the imperial flagship  brows.gif ? the 2 units displayed at amcorp. boxes are in no good shape major crease with dents with some minor peep hole and 1 of 4 seals detached  shocking.gif . yet still sold out at rm1,800.00. is it because these sets are too significant. ppl willing pay not even bothered? the strong point driving factor is to have it. so lets have your viewpoints on this...  hmm.gif
*
depends on individual i guess..

if the set can reduce price because of dented box or no box..i grab it! who dont like cheap price?

Haha! Sorry I cannot find la... I already have one set (not perfect box) and have given up hope of finding a perfect box... tongue.gif Better be happy with what I have then to chase after perfection... (in this case box perfection, the contents are new and good)

Demand is there but not everybody is willing to pay the current asking market price of RM1.8K (or more for it)... I will advice whoever aiming for this ship to give it a miss unless have deep pockets, cheaper to buy other ships like the LOTR Pirate Ship Ambush. Of course it is not as magnificent as the IF, BP or QAR but sometimes it is pointless chasing after discontinued sets... Paying RM100-200 premium is still acceptable but it gets ridiculous when you have to pay 2x or 3x over the original price... Buying is an emotional decision but the logical mind must step in to save your finances and in some cases your marriage...

Have to remember themes like Lego City, Castle, Space and Pirates etc. has always been a mainstay in Lego's product line-up, Lego may not necessarily re-release the exact same set but you will always find a newer trains, ship, modular building etc. It is expensive and sometimes mission impossible to be a completist...

My dua sen... icon_rolleyes.gif

agreed.. biggrin.gif
i think in terms of ships, IF is so damm nice to have! haha

But the box got severe damage from courier due to very bad packaging. Since I am really picky about the box condition, this is the last time I will buy Lego from them.
