QUOTE(wenshao88 @ Nov 18 2011, 12:54 AM) guys, I'm using 60D, may i know that how can i control and make sure the camera to focus of what i want to when i open all the af points? Example, sometime the camera will af on the object near to us but actually we wanted to follow somewhere else one. Any ideas? I'm using a 7D i'm not sure whether the buttons layout will be the same, but i will try. when u grip your camera, there will be 2 buttons behind ur shutter button but only accessible by the thumb, press that button to select those AF type, then press the button in front (next to your shutter) and select till u see in your viewfinder alot of red tiny dots, then the scroll button nnear to your index fingers and the rotating dial near to your thumb is use to select the focus point. hope this helps Except for asking me to use the center focus point. thanks QUOTE(AphraelJC @ Dec 20 2011, 04:44 AM) Hi guys, Think so this is affected by the filter as well, or smudges? try taking photos without the filter and see? need a lil help here, i just wanna ask, why does my pictures towards the right edge tends to be blurry? i notice it occuring several times over several photos i took in the past 3 months... is it because of my lens (its bout 2 years old, and it has taken several bumps before accidentally) or is it because of my settings/object movement? i'm currently using a d7000 with 18-200mm lens... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « thanks for ur replies QUOTE(koshimae @ Apr 19 2012, 01:53 AM) Newbies here.. Mostly i shoot in Aperture priority mode when shooting sports, get high ISO as high as possible like between 1600 to 6400, biggest aperture u can get with your lens, since ur shutter speed will be auto assign by the camera, u just need to make sure ur aperture is big (f2.8 ~ f4) , filter has nothing to do with this except contributing in glares of the spot light. Don't think u can use flash as often cuz u wil be rapid firing and the flashes normally couldn't charged up that fast.Need tips in shooting low light sport/ indoor sport.. -Setting of camera? -Lens? -Filter? -flash? Thnks.. :-) QUOTE(Aly @ Jun 3 2012, 06:51 PM) go within your budget and the right feel of your grip. you will be holding it alot of the times, make sure is comfortable. |

QUOTE(lpyycy @ Apr 8 2012, 07:12 PM) Dear All, i have a common problem that might face by u all...but i trying to verify it before sending for service... This is not for the faint of heart. Use a clean lenspen (I've done this before, do this at your own risk), set the camera to sensor cleaning mode, the mirror will flip up. Carefully, use the sponge edge of the lenspen and wipe it from left to right in one smooth movement without putting too much pressure. Only go one direction until complete coverage of whole sensor. Test at small aperture again to check if dust is still there. A disclaimer: do this at your own risk. i have black dots in my photos when shooting F12 and above. i have try switching between lens but it still appeared...so, is this mean the image processor is dirty or? i have try to shake the image sensor, and even mirror up to blow it...but this not working, the black dots is still there...i have about 10 dots there that so irriatate to edit it...lolx.. if it is the image sensor problem, can we service it our own or how much is the market price to send for service? thanks.. Pls let us know the settings you use for those pics.. What is the Aperture / Shuttle Speed / ISO and zoom / flash use for those pics.. ? Zoom lens usually are sharp at the centre and less sharp/soft at the edges... If you read reviews on yr Nikon 18-200mm lens, it should give similar conclusions... |

What do you think? What is your priority? portrait/still life/indoors or "landscape"? Notice the "" on the landscape? That's because using a fisheye for landscapes will only get you a WOW factor for a couple of shots. After that, it'll become dull and cliche. For landscapes, you're better off getting an ultra wide angle ie. Canon 10-22mm, Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Tamron 10-24mm, Sigma 10-20 just to name a few. I'd suggest you get a flash first. Preferably Canon's own flash. |

Constant aperture, HSM (not so important for landscape photos anyway, but what the heck), new coatings. But if there's extra cash, I'd recommend the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8. Shorter range, but the constant f/2.8 is some what more useful. |

It is very much appreciated. The new Sigma is above my budget so whatmore about Tokina's. I'll go for Tamron's because it's a F 3.5 aperture as compared to Sigma's F4.0 (the one at the same price range.)As for either Sigma or Tamron, I'd suggest the new Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM. To all P filter user.
If you are using this pocket filer, Please remove all your P filter and throw this pocket away. if you intend to get one of this. Please do not get it at all cost. It will cause further damage to your P filter. |

Hi.. may i know how u all set if you were trying to capture picture of night view/landscape? i only have 18-105 f3.5-5.6 kitlens to begin with. isit good to get big aperture ~f3.5 so that a faster shutter speed can be used, so image would not turn out blurr, oh forgot to mention without a tripod too! or use medium aperture F7-9 and slower shutter speed? does it affect the sharpness/clarity of the shots if bigger aperture is used?
