QUOTE(zerokid @ Feb 28 2014, 02:09 PM) You're an awesome stand up comedian. At par with the likes of Zach Galifianakis and George Carlin. To be honest, I'm just trying to maximize the lifespan of the product I will be purchasing. Knowing most smartphones, acquire very low lifespan, before their predecessor being announced for launch. |

QUOTE(zerokid @ Feb 28 2014, 02:27 PM) get a life dude...tech stuff a growing so fast, today u buy new gadget..tomorrow release a new one. It looks like you're the one in need of 'getting a life' for repeating it twice. I'm a statistical man. I have to be sure that I'm always at the edge and at the advantage, especially whilst making purchases especially for devices, which is about to mature in contrast of how fast the technology world is moving these days. If you have problems with me asking for useful opinions, then you shouldn't spend your precious little time and waste it on me to post some ridiculous posts without any useful input like the previous ones you posted. Hope you have a good day, and please stop making other peoples' lives miserable even if yours is currently one nexus 5 release on november 2013 and now is just 4 months from release date...even this phone is not official in malaysia. u want to wait up to u, but u will be miss all the good stuff by waiting for upcoming new phone. of course new phone is better than the previous one.so ill say again get a life |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Feb 28 2014, 02:30 PM) There are possible few things like previous we have been discussed before, the next Nexus 6 either will be made by LenoMoto or again by LG, or will be replace by Google Play Edition. Thanks for the useful insight bro NightFelix. You are right about rumors of upcoming phones from other manufacturers. I'm currently inclined with the Google Nexus because they are the Google flagship phones. I was just only wondering if the Google Nexus 5 is worth it to stick around whilst newer phones (new technologies) are introduced on other models. So by that time, we will be very excited about the LenoMoto made Nexus will come with Snapdragon 805 with awesomess Touchless Control, or the LG made Nexus will come with Snapdragon 805 with awesomness upgraded of current True OIS. When you about to buy it, then again rumor have spread around the internet, the next GPe will available on Sony <insert model here> or HTC <insert model here> or Samsung <insert model here>. Here we go again, should I buy this or skip again? QUOTE(xxdesire @ Feb 28 2014, 02:31 PM) To be honest, most smartphones lifespan now is considered low. Almost every year, manufacturers keep launching their new devices/flagship. I understand your concern (I do consider device lifespan before purchasing). The second phone is basically, just a back up of my primary phone especially when the battery drains. I will have the Nexus 5 to continue the same dynamism that I require from my primary phone. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.So I ask you: Is this device worth sticking to for <insert number of months/years>? Considering N5 updates are directly from Google, this device will get updates for 2 years+ (probably) (eg: GNex) Your question: Is it still worthy to get the Google Nexus 5 as my second phone? What's your usage for second phone? Just backup? You use it with your primary phone? QUOTE(Someonesim @ Feb 28 2014, 02:34 PM) 1. It's only launched for 3 months plus, you will had to wait another 9 to 10 months to get it ( if it's possible to obtain ). This is new to me. I have not heard of the rumors that Nexus line might/will be discontinued. I don't mind other manufacturers to continue the flagship model, but if they are discontinued, then updates on current models will/might be slower in terms of pace and soon vanished into thin air.2. You pay lower price now compare to much higher price when it's just launched. 3. It's still rumor, but Nexus line might get discontinued. 4. Unless you're interested in new HTC One, else Nexus 5 is the best phone available IMHO. |

QUOTE(zerokid @ Feb 28 2014, 02:40 PM) the main reason u said that hold u from buying it is the launching of nexus 6? oh come on!! if ur the statistical man i bet that u have research on nexus 5 and know what are the benefits and u should decide on ur own without even asking "should i buy or not". peace out Reading and asking from those who have experienced the device are two different things by definition my friend Let me put it this way, to make it easy for you to comprehend. It is much more informative, if one were to ask others' experience on a device, which they have hold/played with for a period of time, rather than reading a few hundred lines of specifications listed on a user manual (which could bring no meaning at all) towards consumers' satisfaction. I'm not here to fight, and it looks like you treat this as a competition. Don't grudge, and the weekend is about to start, brother. Take a chill pill, and release. |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Feb 28 2014, 02:50 PM) I doubt your ability for statistical. You either buy it at launch with higher price, or buy later with lower price. You pay higher price earlier to enjoy the experience for longer time, or you pay lower price later to enjoy shorter time span. In the end, the value to previous generation will be same at the time of of new generation released. Price and value of devices will dropped as time goes, to the base point of device's own base value. I seriously like the way you think. Very rigid, and manipulative. You can make a good Barrister. But if you were to read between the lines, I said " I have to be sure that I'm always at the edge and at the advantage, especially whilst making purchases especially for devices, which is about to mature in contrast of how fast the technology world is moving these days."If you're at the edge, you'll had get it already and keep swapping newer devices when it's available. I specifically mentioned, 'especially whilst making purchases for devices, which is about to mature'. It's never about the money, but it has come to a time that, I'm in need of a second phone, because my primary phone does not provide me with enough juice to last the whole day. Work oriented, turns out that I need a back up phone to adapt the same performance as my primary phone. And the day, turns to be today. It was never about buying devices at launch with a premium price. I would, if I knew on that launch day that my primary phone does not satisfy me. |
