Is it still worthy to get the Google Nexus 5 as my second phone?

You're an awesome stand up comedian. At par with the likes of Zach Galifianakis and George Carlin. To be honest, I'm just trying to maximize the lifespan of the product I will be purchasing. Knowing most smartphones, acquire very low lifespan, before their predecessor being announced for launch.

It looks like you're the one in need of 'getting a life' for repeating it twice. I'm a statistical man. I have to be sure that I'm always at the edge and at the advantage, especially whilst making purchases especially for devices, which is about to mature in contrast of how fast the technology world is moving these days. If you have problems with me asking for useful opinions, then you shouldn't spend your precious little time and waste it on me to post some ridiculous posts without any useful input like the previous ones you posted. Thanks for the useful insight bro NightFelix. You are right about rumors of upcoming phones from other manufacturers. I'm currently inclined with the Google Nexus because they are the Google flagship phones. I was just only wondering if the Google Nexus 5 is worth it to stick around whilst newer phones (new technologies) are introduced on other models.

The second phone is basically, just a back up of my primary phone especially when the battery drains. I will have the Nexus 5 to continue the same dynamism that I require from my primary phone. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

This is new to me. I have not heard of the rumors that Nexus line might/will be discontinued. I don't mind other manufacturers to continue the flagship model, but if they are discontinued, then updates on current models will/might be slower in terms of pace and soon vanished into thin air.

Let me put it this way, to make it easy for you to comprehend. It is much more informative, if one were to ask others' experience on a device, which they have hold/played with for a period of time, rather than reading a few hundred lines of specifications listed on a user manual (which could bring no meaning at all) towards consumers' satisfaction. I specifically mentioned, 'especially whilst making purchases for devices, which is about to mature'. It's never about the money, but it has come to a time that, I'm in need of a second phone, because my primary phone does not provide me with enough juice to last the whole day. Work oriented, turns out that I need a back up phone to adapt the same performance as my primary phone. And the day, turns to be today. It was never about buying devices at launch with a premium price. I would, if I knew on that launch day that my primary phone does not satisfy me.
