Initial impression on the Nexus 5 after 2 years using Galaxy Nexus, damn smooth and lightning fast the phone is..

BTW why my N5 freshly formatted also around 26GB? Sync with google account and load some youtube videos + browsing on Chrome now left 25gb only haih

Well, unless you think you're being cheated by Google.

I would say the web app is rubbish  brows.gif

The browser address box + soft button bar took away the remaining pixels.  tongue.gif

Try dolphin browser. Enter full screen mode and try again.

I entered the site using my Galaxy Nexus browser using that site also.. It says the correct 1280X720..

Also I notice when recording video and watching video on youtube, got some juddering/frame dropping, normal?

I used Dolphin in full screen mode and got 1845x1080. With chrome, I got roughly the same as yours so it's the browser problem.

I tested some 1080p video with the youtube app and compare to my pc youtube, mine doesn't have any problem. (smooth/on par with the pc). Also with my brother's iphone 4S, no frames dropped for me. (am on ART, if that helps)

A quick google search and I found there are some nexus 5 suffers from frames dropping too, not sure if there's any fix on this issue yet.

Something like this

Yeah, when I Googled the issue, also saw this. I also did a test with a iPhone 4S and my phone doesn't suffer the stuttering/frames drops. I don't see any solutions though from my search.  hmm.gif

But does your N5 suffer from this too?

Any other people suffer the same choppyness issue?

I believe just rooting your phone you'll still receive and apply any OTA updates; provided you DID NOT touch/modify any system files. Also stock recovery. However, any OTA updates will make you lose root so need to re-root.
*
So I just run CF Root again after that? Because CF Root automatically unlocks the bootloader and root..

During my GNEX time, after unlock bootloader, I can still apply OTA update..

But CF root automatically unlocks bootloader and reroot after OTA eventhough my phone's bootloader is already unlocked?

Is it normal that my left speaker sound louder than my right one? When I close the left speaker using my finger, the sound will be low, if I close my right speaker, like no difference

i think alot ppl say it nt as useful..
some even claim it drain more battery than saving...
i dun thk battery saving app is necessary as long as you can control your rogue apps and wakelocks..
*
I just test my N5 overnight just drain 2% of battery from 1 am to 12pm. Quite ok la.. But while screen on it uses much battery although screen is at around 5% brightness, all sync is off, battery saving location and on wifi instead of data..

Compare Cerberus and Android Device Manager? Android Device Manager looks neat to me, but never really try them.
