The commands from the web browser to the phone only works if the phone is connected to Wifi/3G.

If there's no internet connection, your best bet is to use sms commands using another phone

If you live in Malaysia just grab AP set, price about same or slightly lesser but these sellers offer 2 years warranty. At least you know who to go to if something is wrong.

Anyone's N5 same like mine, when I tap lightly on the area above the volume rocker and on top of the phone, got sound like something loose inside the phone. If I tap the lower part of the phone, no sounds..
