Yes, greenified those battery drain user apps, and then App Ops certain permission disable for specially Google Play Service.

I only disabled the 'Wake Lock'. Anything else safe to disable? haha

bored with stock rom.........
any custom stuff to recommend? which one good??
*
Tried GravityBox on XposedFramework? I'm still on stock coz i dont see the reason to change yet ..GB pretty much has everything i need from multiple ROMs

QUOTE(xxdesire @ Feb 19 2014, 03:50 PM)
Yes, if on stock rom and rooted can do OTA. But if did mess with /system stuff, stock recovery, OTA is not possible.
*
so i guess the only way to get latest update is to get stock rom from XDA?

any has problem transferring files ? I could transfer 100+mb files (Slimkat ROM) but can't do the same with 300mb+ (Cataclysm). Needed to put into a folder then only transfer. Then, the problem is, when i tried to flash it, it couldn't open zip file

what you're using to transfer? My Android File Transfer work fine in Mac.

I just used standard drag-drop on Windows 8. I flashed Slimkat without a problem(but returned to stock..didn't like the interface)

Did you try to open the zip file at PC, most of the time failed to flash is due to zip file itself corrupted.
*
k thanks! will try re-downloading.

QUOTE(Xirality @ Feb 20 2014, 01:38 AM)
Me neither, can't comment about W8 as I never use before.

I plan to try Carbon ROM, now using Purity  smile.gif

Quite similar with Cataclysm.
*

What xposed can do actually? Didn't try it before  hmm.gif
*
It's like Cydia on iOS (am i using the right analogy here biggrin.gif ?)

So far it is serving me well. Even has Pie controls and alot of other features from multiple ROMs.

Xposed can run on any phone? or there are specific xposed?

I guess you can say that. Any ROM too unless specified. It's just a framework for you to download all the different modules(tweaks). Those modules are more specific to firmware or phone models.

I used it before, however dont seems to work on PowerAmp. Tested on Google Music and it works. It does improve audio quality a little bit, depend on how you configure it to your taste. Compare it to PowerAmp's own EQ, cant spot differences on my IEM.
What I read from HeadFi forum is that Nexus 5 had one of the best audio output ( headset ), so V4A serve as tools to assist you tweak it to your own taste.

QUOTE(xxdesire @ Feb 21 2014, 09:34 AM)
Yes, been using it since xhifi was still in development (now stopped)
Audio quality is superb pair zhuhang's IRS. I paid for his IRS and my opinion: it's good, very good. Even better than acidmod. I mostly use with headset/bluetooth. Speaker I don't really uses it.

I tested it on gonemad player (current), gplay music, poweramp, rocket player.
*
I tried on poweramp but could only hear abit of difference on headphones. Gonna try more settings later

Anyway, anyone using DirtyUnicorns? Seems like alot of features. Been so dependent on GravityBox I can't find one ROM that has enough features laugh.gif
