Hey guys,

As a regular user of JobStreet, I'm curious as to if any of you has a different pitch for different applications? Also, can you provide an example to a great pitch that makes you stand out in your application at JobStreet?

It's tough for me as a foreigner to apply with the same pitch, though. I wonder what other pitches applicants use to make them stand out more.

From my point of view, I think you should pick the statement that says the most about you and what you want to be, and make it the highlight of your pitch.

I doubted that employers will read them but I fill it up anyways.

Yeah, I think so too. I mean, in Australia, most online job boards and all other job ads require applicants to provide both cover letter and resume. I was very surprised that I didn't really need to do one.

By any chance, can you help me review a cover letter I'm about to send to banks and financial institutions? I'm currently looking for a full-time position and have no professional experience in the field and I would very much like an entry-level role and build myself from thereon. I haven't got anyone review it and the Resume/Cover letter thread doesn't seem to be responding so I doubt I'd get early responses.

Can you help me with the favour, please?

Yeah, I'm aware. I think it's mostly because of work permit issues and also that having a Malaysian resident or citizen is much more guaranteeing and comforting for them.

Edited: What do you think of the cover letter?

i find it a little too long, try shorten it a little while maintaining the same meaning.

I wouldn't even finish reading it. what's more a recruiter.

Ah, thanks for the feedback guys.

Edited: If you're a foreigner looking for opportunities in the financial service industry, do you list your nationality in your resume?

anyway, thanks for the cover letter sample. i can use some of the sentences there.

and, about the pitch in jobstreet, i never put anything there. just apply and submit. if the employer thinks my experience and qualification suits what they need. they will call for interview.
