feel like sending in my Y500 into service center for massive clean up.

i need them disassemble my whole notebook, clean up all the dust and reapply the thermal paste for both CPU and GPU

do the service center in 1U have such service for notebook under warranty ?

i know HP have that kind of service.

Yea, i read the previous post b4 and recently someone went there n also got same answer from reseller. If only one or two reseller said like tht mybe they were lying but all of them said the same thing need to upgrade on ur own, but yea i will call lenovo to confirm it.

Anyway, this is my first laptop with grafic card, can anybody share how to maintain it n wht kind of software to use to monitor the performance, temperature etc2 smile.gif

one suggestion, try to ditch away the 1TB 5400 rpm HDD because it will generate tons of heat plus the performance is really bad.

move to a SSD if budget allow, the 1TB HDD can slot into caddy bay as an extra storage.

SSD can slot into caddy bay and made it primary drive?

SSD is slotted inside the notebook.

the 1TB HDD will be in the caddy bay which will replace the DVD-drive.

wow..you send in just for maintenance? means what they do to your computer?

Still under warranty or not?

yeah....my notebook still under warranty.

the unit inside is clog with dust, so I sent in have it all clean up and re paste the thermal paste.

the turn around time is 5 days, not as good as HP which is 3 days.
