Tumpang tered to ask if anyone knows about MSI GE62 2QE/2QF that are launched in Malaysia during the MSI event recently? I've asked retailers and they are sure the GTX 965M version will be here by end of Jan but can anyone shed light on the GTX 970M (2QF) version. GE62 Launching Tech-critter somehow had info on the four models. Anyone knows about this? Apparently 2QF comes with 4k IPS screen Currently have a GE60 with GTX 765M and thinking of getting one for my bro. Thanks in advance.

QUOTE(zonan4 @ Jan 26 2015, 06:58 PM) If you have friends working in Dell you can get it way cheaper... And I heard there is a discount on Chinese new year... At first I'm going for GE62 with 970m but Dell offering is too good to pass on. what u guys thing whoch one I should go? Off course I'll add SSD onto the AW15 Yeah I was eyeing for GE62 with 970M as well, but from my research it may be equipped with the sub-par 4k IPS screen with only 48hz refresh rate and will appear downright yellowish out of the box, You can see in forums where people complain about the 4k screen on Lenovo Y50 4k and also GS60 Ghost Pro 4k version. Surely you don't want to game with that kind of screen. But it comes with SSD installed + 7200 rpm 1TB HDD compared to nooby 5400rpm HDD on the Alienware tho & not to mention the Alienware will be MUCH heavier at 3.2kg compared to GE62 @ 2.4kg. Dilemma huh?

Yeah but since MSI updated their chassis with the new GE62/GE72 models, I hope heating will be much improved. Fingers crossed tho. Hope the new dual fans really work.
Nevertheless, I do agree that my old GE60 with GTX 765M, upon havy load i.e. gaming, it literally becomes a frying pan, especially near the vents & touchpad. There are heating problems on almost all of MSI laptops I've seen so far i.e. GE,GS series except the GT ones due to their big chassis. One thing that I can't deny: MSI's designs are irresistibly cool though.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Jan 26 2015, 07:16 PM) My experience is driver support from AMD / Radeon is always poor. Yeah but recently Nvidia's support has dwindled a bit though, with the recent driver updates efficiently blocking OC on laptop GPUs and the problems with underutilisation of GPu like 880Ms with new drivers.
