there are two slot for ram in the y50.
but open up the back is really headache, need to exert some force.... scarely...
so if yours are currently 8gb, should be no problem adding another 8gb, costing around RM 250 depends on brand.
maybe check first... hopefully not some model with 2x4gb (should not be)

I recently bought Lenovo Y50 which comes with Windows 8.1 Update 1 preinstalled.
Apparently it come with hotkeys like volume and brightness. (since some people reported that they haven't include this feature)

I tried to update my Nvidia drivers, but it says that the driver has been modified by Lenovo and can only updated from their site (already checked, their driver is 3 months outdated).

I found the solution how to install official Nvidia driver by using this guide: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKt7HF_-jAk

However some people on YT reported that installing official driver causes  lowers the FPS...

So can someone volunteer to try that driver?
Or should wait Lenovo to update thet driver?

(Drivers checked on both Nvidia Experience & Nvidia website)

y50's default wifi has lower reception capability

Hmm noone is talking about the RM4,699 version with HD IPS screen, is it worth the extra RM600-700 for it? The stock screen doesn't impress me too much based on my reading of this topic.

just to confirm that by following the guide in this thread, i got the two years warranty.
fyi, previously i registered and got one year. then i resend the registration with the title "2 years local warranty registration malaysia"
now my warranty end with 2 years. thanks for all master level advice.
