i got G551JM stock on hand already.

HONESTLY, I am quite disappointed by it
*
I hands on the machine, brushed alluminium is one major problem. doh.gif

G551JM lack of ROG gaming beast's DNA.
But price will jack up if it does.
*
It won't jack up, Asus keeping the price line based on spec wise.
If its Asus GX500 then i would say it will have a price hike due to internal hardware.

No wonder then. His comment always makes me.... doh.gif

Man, just look at how degrading the quality of replies in Mobile Computing nowadays. Take a peek at Recommended Thread, every seller is "OK U GOT PM, CHECK UR PM" crap.

How I miss Mobile Computing during Astria era sad.gif
*
Heck current Mobile computing is partially recommendation and garage sale hybrid nowadays.

They sure got stock want. U need to press them more bro.

Haha when i bought my ge60 and was unboxing it then a 18+ year old kid and his parents came to shop looking for laptops. The parents looked unhappy cuz they wanted to get a asus lappy for about 2.5k but i was sort of flashing my steelseries keyboard on my msi and the kid also wanted it LOL. Feel bad to the parents wei... I think they end up with a Y50 for rm3999.... Still not bad mah, red backlit kb...
*
but pity the parents streching the budget by another 1.5k. sweat.gif
Still its partial your fault showing off that feature spoiling that kid.

Aiyo... I work and keep money for 8months lol. Hard earned lappy must show off mah, and people who buys msi laptops tend to show off hehe. Yeah my bad tongue.gif
But at least his lappy would last throughout his college years.
*
Nope, it wouldn't with modern games squeezing every single horse power from GPU. GPU gets outdated in 1-2 years. College years? 4-5 years until graduation.

I think its common sense if u need to have a good gaming notebook to last till 4 years and max every single games u need to spend for a laptop with top tier gpu eg gtx980m...which cost around 7-9k. OR, go for a gaming desktop rig for about 5k+ and only you are future proof. If u spend 3-4k on a midrange laptop or desktop, suffice to say as years goes by u have to down tune ur game settings.

Or if u are like me i still play old games like starcraft 2, mass effect series and other games pre-2014. Its all about contention and acceptance that high-end gaminh rigs are still expensive...and will be more once GST is implemented.

Must ukur baju di badan sendiri first bro and sis. My old Rm2700 asus laptop lasted me from 4 college years till 3years of working life. When u lived a normal life u gotta live with moderation in mind. Sorry for the nags lmao.
*
that is for gamer aspect, what if that kid is not a gamer just fancy of the bling bling feature and so?
It could be his "First" laptop for college. Even my first Laptop last time was around 2.5k like that Asus Z99JR( T6600 + ATi Radeon X2300), still can play game but old games ONLY and that time the trend was BenQ S42 iinm. Eitherway, my parents bought the laptop without consulting much on the spec.

Still, i feel sorry for the parents when kids are demanding expensive gagdets. sweat.gif

Malaysia? Most probably no.
The highest processor for AW15 is i7 4710HQ. Each of different pricing of the i7 processor are link to different combination of the processor and GPU, the cheapest is R290, then GTX 970m and the most expensive GTX980m.

If you choose the lowest configuration, and take out the Cyberlink, Adobe and Dell Backup & Recovery software, then it is lower than RM 4999.
*
If you compare with Dell US price. Our R9 295M is cheaper compare to theirs while their 970M is way cheaper than us. sweat.gif

My experience is driver support from AMD / Radeon is always poor.

if the driver support is poor, why is alienware putting a AMD R9 M295X in it and why apple uses the same GPU in iMac 5k? whistling.gif
