Well, you would have to wait.Currently i cant really recommend the newer version due to some bugs available..Anyway, i do realise my BitComet takes a while before it was up to speed again. It was like when i first start it, the speed was very low and if i keep it on for a few moments, the speed will start to pick up until it burst the meter and i cant even surf the net anymore..Running at about 50+kb for 512MB line..
*
From what i remember the new version has a function to set the limit of half open connection and TCP
This problem mostly happen to me as well as the download speed start to pick up as also the number of TCP started to increase. When the number of TCP increase so the respond time for browsing or anything else will be extremely slow... So basically i try close my download when i want to surf or would surf when the torrent has very low number of TCP connected sweat.gif

Use version 0.70 which is certified to be stable by many users
version 0.71 - 0.77 is not stable to use yet and have a lot of bug issue

i feel like version .76 and .77 seem to be functional but you have to play around with the setting a little as they have a manual setting over the maximum number of half open connection and TCP and this causes the slowdown on the overall download speed
As far as i know version .70 are more flexible in the control of TCP and half open connection

NOTE: now BitComet website didnt have the "Last Stable Version" again...

maybe they think that BitComet v0.77 is the last stable version......
*
I would rather wait for few days before updating to 0.77 if they really think that version is stable... Maybe the webmaster did some error on the link whistling.gif

here is some feedback from me
i was using version 0.70 and directly install 0.77 and came to the conclusion that this version is stable for me as download rate is constant according to the torrent ratio

The only thing i was frustrated is their scheduler is not working properly whereby i set a specific of time to halt all download then when the time to start the download again it just didn't start vmad.gif

Guess you don't have to worry about that issue
mostly version 0.71 to 0.76 is full of problem and bug so its best never use that

I set my max simultaneous download task to 4 and i got about 7 torrent to download and i left download for 8 hour which its more than enough time to complete all 7 torrent but sadly the fifth torrent didn't start at all once a torrent is complete mad.gif
Really frustrating man...

*
Totally agree with you it seem like they have made a massive changes on their source code and not every system are able to adapt to this changes and download rate are affected in a negative way shakehead.gif

For my case i downgrade back to version 0.70
Version 0.77 and 0.78 really causing too much hassle and the download speed just can't be as good when i use version 0.70...
I seriously getting fed up with Bitcomet and may change to another bittorrent client if they next few release claimed to have so called improvement...

if you want to change
then you may change so
coz i also started to think that the BitComet make a bad job...

i want some function in v0.70 and v0.77
hope they can combine together

but the result come out is the v0.78 that Crash...... doh.gif
*
Same here.... if only both can combine without problem...
For me there is not problem running v0.78 but the download speed is seriously horrible...

To those who want to convert back from v0.77 or 0.78 to v0.70, i suggest that backup your torrent and uninstall. Once that is done go to Program Files to delete the entire folder as most of the configuration are still there. Then only u install back v0.70

I feel its much better to do that as v0.70 still might use the configuration on v0.77 or 0.78 and it will affect the download/upload rate

Somehow i do this i manage to get back my stable download rate but before i do the clean installation again the download at v0.70 is as horrible as v0.78

It works for me somehow but not sure for the others sweat.gif

I think its best to focus using on v0.70 as the new release would only bring more problem
It would be nice if they just increase their interface and enhancement function as their core function is consider very good and stable
