TMNut's throttle. Try Xunlei.. Can get avg 160KB/s (1MB package) if with good seeds..

Example: Naruto from dattebayo.

that is popular torrent
i think whatever bt client also can get high speed from that torrent

asking noob question...
Xunlei also use bt to download??
*
Xunlei is originally an HTTP Downloader like Flashget if I'm not mistaken. But it's including BT download.. yes, the speed is very good.

And for the naruto from dattebayo example, I only get 110KB/s from Bitcomet, 7x from utorrent. Xunlei is best for me..

For xunlei's http download, I think that it's superB compared with FLashget, Bitcomet, browser http dl. It can reach 160kb/s(1mb package) as long as the server is good....

guys i got some question here....
will internet connection affect my downloads?
which mean,if my internet are slow, will makes the download become slow?
or the download is depend on the seed?
*
Of course it depends on your internet connection. If you're using 512 package, your max speed is 50~60 and with 1mb package, your max speed is 130++..

And it depends on seed as well..

does the utorrent give the same speed?
*
I don't think uTorrent will give that speed. If we compare uTorrent vs. Xunlei vs. BitComet with same torrent, Xunlei & BitComet wins..

Do you make any setting in your bitcomet ?
Do you run any other software at the same time to get to that extreme speed ?
Do you do Port Forwarding to your router ?

Added on August 2, 2007, 8:21 pmAnyone still keeping the Bitcomet 0.66 SE file ?
Can you upload it and paste the link on the web and let's everyone get benefit on it ? Or send to my e-mail .

Wow.... rclxm9.gif

Can easily get insane speed by using Bitcomet 0.66SE...
But a bit laggy..
*
Not tried with other torrent yet, only tried with one torrent. Avg. speed is 40~80 KB/s with BitComet 0.66SE + Super-lag(Not internet lag. Freeze-screen every few seconds), and I get 100~150 KB/s avg with Xunlei (Same torrent, no lag and problems)

regardless of the version of bitcomet you are using, as long as the number of seeders are high, there should be no problem with the speed whistling.gif
*
But somehow, if same torrent (Same seed, peers) and comparing it by BitComet SE 0.66, BitComet 0.89, Xunlei 5.
If the torrent have high seeders and xunlei is able to connect to them, I can get high speed as high as 160KB/s (1MB package)
But if Xunlei couldn't connect to the seeders, I only get 0~2KB/s. So BitComet is better when Xunlei cannot connect to the seeders.

I use both Xunlei and BitComet 0.89(Lazy to upgrade to .9x)

Not really true about the 'malaysian seeder'. TMNet throttled Local Peers as well. That's why MyTorrent is starting to 'dying' already..

no wonder my speed is like hell these day...
only can hope for the P2SP only...
but it also limited to some files only... doh.gif
*
Best is with Direct Downloads. Still can get 150KB/s++ with xunlei (100KB/s+ with bitcomet)
No way that they can throttle Direct Download. Throttle Direct Download = throttle surfing as well.

No, but BitComet 0.66 Special Edition might or might not better than BitComet 0.91.

Other country also not much difference.. SG = good speed but using bittorent is illegal.. while some other countries limit the dl/ul rate.

Never experienced this before. But you really shouldn't download/upload 9 tasks at the same time.. it will affect your speed sweat.gifsweat.gif

not only router or modem
i also want to know what version of BitComet you using
since that some will use the mod v0.66 version which will make system hang (although the positive feedback is very fast)
*
For the 0.66 Special Edition, personally I think it's very very unstable, I prefer Xunlei over 0.66 Special Edition. No idea 0.66SE hate me or what, the speed is slower(Big difference, not few KB/s difference) than Xunlei, and Xunlei got no problem (lagging, etc) at all sweat.gifsweat.gif

even wan search stuff also kenot....
but my pc no hang wor... jus the internet kenot connect...  i do limit my speed... cos if i don limit... right after i start download task.. my connection straight away dc... at least when i limit.. i still can use for a while
*
Do a portfoward, get your router model's and find it at http://www.portfoward.com and do a portfoward.

QUOTE(Tsukasa @ Aug 11 2007, 10:19 AM)
I used 0,90 before but dont kinda like it cz it eats up all my ram.. Imagine when i dl 20 torrent together.. it eats up my ram like no tomorrow.. around 250mb..

So I downgrade back to 0.73 and no problem since then as 20 torrent just took me 60mb. lol..

Not so sure regarding version 0.66 is super fast though.

Nowdays try changing to IRC. Torrent is getting slower as days goes by thanks to our service provider. lol
*
Surely for that because you run 20 task at same time.. why do you want to do so? Even if you run all 20 task, the speed might get from worse to worst..

chillz chillz.. don cos of a sohai(me) u all quarrel.. paiseh if i cos a chaos..
anyway... i did so many things d.. but still same problem occurs.. haha...
fren recommend me utorrent wor.. better? n also if my torrent already halfway downloading.. anyhow to move from bitcomet to utorrent??

p/s: im now in office seeing my housemate msn n ym keep on n off on n off.. haha... later he sure pull my plug d... lolz
*
Yep it's possible.
Just follow the steps below:-
  • My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Untick 'Hide extension for known file types'
  • Go to the folder that your files are half-way-downloaded.
  • You will see the file name like.. "Movie_2006.avi.bc!"
  • Rename it to "Movie_2006.avi.!ut"
  • Go to uTorrent and load the torrent, directory = the current half-way-download directory (Example you saved in C:\Downloads in BitComet), so choose C:\Downloads here as well)
  • "Force hash-check/recheck/whatever to check the files"
  • Your file will continue downloading from what it have left before.

But then, personally.. I don't recommend uTorrent tho. Even it does save ram, but the speed is hell slow. By comparing Xunlei, BitComet and uTorrent. Xunlei > BitComet > uTorrent or BitComet > Xunlei > uTorrent (depends on situation for xunlei vs bitcomet)

my utorrent cannot connect to any tracker. weird...
*
Refer to this post that I answered you in uTorrent thread.

QUOTE(superfifa @ Aug 16 2007, 06:02 PM)
i start using standalone utorrent 3 months ago, but i cant connect to any tracker, even the popular one like qingkong. y is it so??
*
Because TMNut a.k.a Screamyx have blocked user from connecting to trackers by using User-Agent blocking (Well, something like that). If you want to connect to tracker, you need to do some bypass. Quoted from here.

QUOTE(newbieockids @ Jan 19 2007, 10:44 PM)
Proxomitron will do the job as well.. smile.gif
U can see from the log here(attached image)..

Proxomitron filter "disable"
"++Get 10+++"
user agent was utorrent/1600 and i get disconnect from tracker..

after that i enable Proxomitron filter and updating the tracker in utorrent..
"++Get 11++".. user agent changed and utorrent get a response from tracker..

QUOTE(newbieockids @ Jan 20 2007, 02:05 AM)

1) after download Proxomitron, extract and run proxomitron.exe(the green icon).. If any pop-up come out from your firewall just allow it..
2) In Proxomitron main window, "Edit Filter" section, click "Headers", then a "HTTP Header Filters" window will come out..
3) In "HTTP Header Filters" window, scroll down and you will find there is 6 user-agent option.. Choose  any one of them by ticking at "OUT" section and then click "Apply", "Ok"..
4) Configure your BT client to use this proxy..
5) Launch Proxomitron log windows and then start your torrent task to see if it works..

Proxomitron was using port 8080 on default so if u're behind a router, forward port 8080..
