Marantz SA7001 Super Audio CD Player

Marantz today is seen as a very successful manufacturer of quality home entertainment electronics products. The bulk of its inventory is probably Home Cinema related with surround sound amplifiers, processors and DVD players taking the lead. But Marantz's heritage is legendarily audio and its latest product the SA7001 SACD player serves to remind us of that. Although SACD (Super Audio CD) was designed to be fully multichannel it can function just as well in good old two channel mode. And that's what the engineers at Marantz have planned for the SA7001, to incorporate the best benefits of SACD in stereo and also to allow a higher degree of resolution the conventional CD is capable of when played back on a high performance SACD player.

The secret of the high resolution capability of this 2 channel SACD/CD player lies in the adoption of the CS4397 Super DAC (Digital to Analogue converter) from Cirrus Logic, This DAC is also found in the higher end SA-15SI and the SA8400 SACD players. To ensure that its resolution capability is maintained from source to output, the SA7001 also feature the use of its proprietary HDAM Op-Amps that is said to offer significantly lower operation noise. This in turn allows a very much improved dynamic range. As is to be expected of a pure audiophile product, the SA7001 features the use of customized components to coax the maximum amount of performance possible from it. Being a two channel player with strong digital capabilities the SA7001 is designed with the best output connectors possible which include two sets of analogue balanced and unbalanced outputs with digital co-axial and optical outputs.

Solidly constructed in the traditional Marantz standard the SA7001 is available in platinum, gold, silver or black. Retail price RM 3,641.

Most probably the photo was linked wrongly to the actual site. The cd player retails around RM700 plus, quite value for money.

Oi!.. NO way its RM700..
This evening I was at A & L Audio Station and the slim budget Marantz DVD/SACD player already RM1.6k..list price.
So if dedicated SACD player like SA7001 (double the height of that budget set) going for RM700??? .. only too good to be true?.... I'd buy one TOMORROW!..at THAt price?..

RM2.6K above..I'd believe!..

erm..OT abit...what you guys think about oppo 981 series? although it's a universal player, i can't find any sub 1k sacd player to compare..any other sub 1k sacd player you guys can recommend?
