Gasaraki, hands down. One of the best underrated mecha anime I've ever seen. To think that this anime sets the backdrop of its events in half of its episodes in the middle-east kinda reflects the events which happened in the real middle-east five years later after the anime was made with pretty much the same story: a fictitious and questionable war 'justified' under the reason of eliminating threats from WMDs. The only thing missing in the real-life events are Tactical Armors and mumbo-jumbo Shinto stuff.
