!!!!! Take note !!!!!
Cvt oil is not the same as ATF oil - if u are having the 10.5 gen 7 speed super cvt altis
Which u have use ATF , pls flush it off immediately otherwise you are just killing your gearbox slowly and surely
Let me share my experience, I own the same model altis. In terms of gearbox smoothness it is superb so far the best I had. From new I had good mileage city and hard driving could yield around 560km per tAnk +-
However upon reaching 30k mileage I could noticed the fu
El consumption is getting worse from 560 down till 500 and upon reaching 40k it's down till 460km per tank.
I have done regular interval service as per recommended by the service manual. And I have suspected the cvt oil is wearing off. During my service interval at puchong and subang SC they claimed similarly that the cvt oil is a long life lubricant; 1 sa even claimed if things are due to change there would be a check light coming up. I wasn't convinced at all and upon further asking both SC claimed nobody has changed it yet !!!!
This was during the 30k and 40k service interval.
However I could noticed the sluggishness on the gearbox while it performing the gear change, less sensitive and getting rougher too. Hence at 43k I call up puchong SC again and this time round they claimed they have down cvt oil changes, hence I proceeded immediately. During my visit, at first they would still claimed the default cvt oil is long life bla bla bla - this time I insisted I want an cvt oil change, hence they relented.following that I even requested to view the actual bottle and to my surprise both normal ATF and cvt are in a rectangular tin with Japanese letterings on it but if you we're to inspect on it clearly enough 1 says ATF the other says cvt !!! The pricing is almost similar with labour both are a 210
Now after the cvt oil change barely a week, I could now clearly see that my initial good mileage per tank at 560 is coming back. And the car gears changing are smoother too !!
If you have ATF poured in- pls get it flushed ASAP. Remembered the horror stories on the very 1st bath of Honda city with cvt??? It's all due to ignorance by pouring ATF rather than specific cvt oil sadly this is recurring again and many ppl do not notice bat this.
altis cvt transmission fluid, how frequent to chg
