FC im having 8.4 - 9.0L/100KM (Mon - Fri morning jam from NKVE to damansara) XV easily can reach 140km/h with 2.5k rpm.

Hmmm, sorry to butt in but I don't think that's possible for the XV.

RPM = (speed x gear ratio x final drive ratio) / (pi x tire diameter) = (140 x 1000/60 x 0.695 x 3.7) / (pi x 0.678) = 2816

Or is that a typo that you meant to mention you're only going at 124 km/hr at 2500 rpm?

Just curious as I was doing some calculations for my own car.

RPM = (140 x 1000/60 x 0.772 x 3.195) / (pi x 0.742) = 2470

To add to more curiosity, the Forester 2.0 XT has even lower engine RPM at 140km/hr;

RPM = (140 x 1000/60 x 0.57 x 3.9) / (pi x 0.7036) = 2347

I think nowadays Kastam will impose tax no matter whether it reaches RM500 or not.  I bought some accessories for my Note 3 and Ipad Air, all not exceeding RM500, some only RM100+ but still kena tax of 10-15%.  Bought the same accessories more than 1 years ago but no import duty was imposed.  So i think be prepare to pay some import duty.

Government pokai already. Everywhere also try to look for ways to get money. rolleyes.gif

So much so I have given up buying anything out of Malaysia. sad.gif

Need to double check first if possible coz i think Malaysia imposes heavy import duty on rubber products to protect local rubber industry.  I am not sure what category is the mudflap.  Maybe you can ask RokBlokz what is the HS code for their product, so we can check our Kastam import duty listing for the tax rate.  smile.gif

EDIT:  I can transfer payment to you via M2U.  You just let me know the final amount.

I am on Petron 97 but with additives.

Is RON 97 really required? With additives some more?

thanks for the info.  wow... so total cost will be USD80 x 3.38 + 35% tax RM94.64 + USD30 shipping = RM466.44 for 1 set of of the mud flap.  rolleyes.gif

Tax is actually calculated on CIF cost. That means inclusive of shipping. sweat.gif

Also, it's not 35% total tax but rather 25% + 10% compounded. sweat.gif

Therefore 118 with 25% import tax = 147.5

147.5 with 10% sales tax = 162.25

That's 162.25 x 3.38 = RM 548.41

Some say because of the courier use - UPS parcel will have higher chance of getting tax than US Post.  Kinda true for me - all my UPS parcel kena tax, no matter the amount.  So far item send via slow US Post no tax.  unsure.gif  Maybe because items sent via USPS consider low value.  tongue.gif

Used to be like that. But not anymore leh. USPS parcels also kena like mad liao.

I think they go for location. KL/PJ ones they are more diligent. If address outside of KL/PJ, they are less strict. sad.gif

thats logic...if the item is expensive, it wouldnt be wise to use usps mail...
*
Actually I've used USPS as carrier for many of my high priced items with no problems. As with any items shipped, they need to be packed nicely. Just the customs is a problem now. sad.gif

This was the sales guy telling on the day I collected the car. The next dayi drove back tommy hometown and occasionally hit 6k rpm while overtaking.
*
I don't see the reason to hit 6000 rpm just to overtake? Should have a lot of bottom end power.

what do you guys think about using the Motul engine oil on the XV? Will it be better or a waste of money..?
*
The SC allows you to bring in your own oil?

Hi  Sifu Joker,

just want to get some advise if you encounter any problem on sudden acceleration?
I have encounter twice since Feb. I heard 'tak tak tak' from the engine while i do sudden acceleration on traffic light, as the result. there is no turbo or force 'kick in'. hence i have release the pedal and press again... but the force come in slowly.
problem it doens't occur very often hence i'm just wondering is it waste of time if i visit SC if i can't reproduce the problem.

thanks,
*
Sounds like a known problem that joker98 mentioned previously?
