what they actually charge you for 1.2k? standard major service for proton isnt <rm400?? check the list sometime they would include alot 2pid thing like battery fluid even though u r using maintenance free battery lol. I don't have much experience with neo, so may be you should try call other SC and ask the price for the similar list of changes, and is it needed to change....

Bro, better bring to a normal workshop. After your car warranty is over, advisable to bring to normal workshop for cheaper labor cost.

but of course need to survey which shop offers best service & value for money.

IMO, your car service should cost <rm700.

for newer protons it's better to go to authorized service centre.

sometimes roadside workshop or regular tyre/oil change workshop don't have all the tools or parts.

especially for savvy or persona and above.

for older (aka Mitsubishi-based) protons, it's better to go outside shops price wise. parts interchangeable with Japanese oem and also lots of half-cut places....

when i told them that, they understood and complied.. so i think they just fishing for extra things to change and charge u if you let your guard down..

even oil change i ask them to put at 10k..when they wanted 5k interval dat time 1-2years ago..

finally now they are using 10k interval officially..

honda service center... but even outside it's about the same... timing belts are not cheap for any cars
*
its not cheap because of the labor charges, and the difficulties do dissembled all those covers and screws.
previously, the most expensive cost for Proton to change belts, is Perdana V6. Lol

sc service charge is really a suicide on money.
the price of timing belt & mounting shoudnt be exceeding 1k.
if u join neo club sure the members can recommend u reliable sparepart dealers & cheaper service charge outside.

don't bother service your proton at proton service centre unless u got discounted price etc

Just go any workshop and service them

You're not driving a >100k car with plenty of electronics and everything digitized

Outside workshop use the sane original genuine parts with 100% cheaper or more

Hi guys, went there last monday. So when he say kawtim, means i need to pay him inside my car. hide2. shitty things. cant even gv me any receipt. So in the end, i can conclude go to SC is alot more worst than outside workshop. atleast outside can gv me receipt. their point is very simple, u want cheaper, u do with me direct. so who in the world would be so genius to decline. as i know, if even expensive car like bmw also can gv cheap price but still within bmw services. pay at counter. coz i decline so many times, now he meet me straight away say only 1.3k. do major service, mounting n timing belt. when i reach meet him, he already do all the things.

this is no more major service right ? i thought major service is usually your normal service plus gb oil, gb oil filter, spark plugs, check power steering oil, and check brakes/brake pads. which is why your major service can sometimes hit 1k if all also need to change or service.

engine mountings and timing belt is under wear and tear items. engine mounts, if more than a few years, should change already because the rubber inside the mount cannot abosrb the vibration properly already. especially if you feel your car inside, everything also vibrates. to be honest, if your mileage more than 100k, already, just find a reliable mechanic outside to do lor. buy your engine mountings on lowyat forum, someone in automotive garage got sell. then give to workshop to replace, there will charge at most also 100 ringgit for upah . the timing belt, 100k, better change, since changing timing belt, might as well check the auxiliary belt and the waterpump. sekali jalan, satu kali upah .

this style, i think he split some with the storekeeper ? because he dont pay for the parts. later, end of the month, they do stock count, then they will detect certain parts missing. i guess, this is why in cose, they dont allow owners to go to the service bay . to avoid such a thing from happening.

They have tax charges etc...I kena sound kaw kaw when I decide to go else where.
Rupanya they make profit on the parts and extra charge.
That is why mahal.
My advice go else where.

Go elsewhere. Try to ask at least three different shops at three different areas. Then you can know the average price.
