1/72 very limited option...but 1/35 plenty of it.

and since i am more of a collector than a modeler (i don't have what people call 'tangan seni' ), collecting 1:72 is better for me since i could mix and match with the diecast ones too

Looking from the sprue itself it seems that ACE 1:72 Wespe would be the ultimate kit for Wespe in this particular scale, with correct details on everything. The gun could also traverse on horizontal plane, which is something Italeri (ESCI) can't replicate. The details such as radio, sight, gun trunion, charge boxes, breech, tread details, etc are all individually molded for that extra detail.

But then again, surely the superstructure would be a bit thick, a plague in this particular scale, considering that the actual vehicle would only have 15mm or armor thickness to it

I don't mind trying this if I could get my hands on this, locally. Penat woo nak mod the incomplete Italeri kit


P/S: I don't mind a bit of thickness here, the details seems lovely here on this particular kit

yup, scratch build take alot of time, u can get the ace wespe at taobao, is way cheaper compare to hobby search.

but i read the comment of ppl who bought ace, they said the surface abit rough, & detailing line so so only.

actually i also plan to get 1/32 zero, but the price is expensive almost RM 270 without shipping cost. so i better aim for 1/48.
so far progress, failed to draw the eye, need to print a decal for it.


btw, here my 1/144 su family, notice that the trumpeter Su r highly detail but the su 27 is way bigger than the Dragon Su33.
look like dragon su 33 under scale.


btw, nice aircraft carrier comparison. Still havent get the CNV nimitz yet. wait after CNY.

my budget for military plamo cannot excessive RM 250.

Well i do plan ahead a few month to save some money to buy this

but even with that, i still think 2-3 times before i finally click the buy button.

finish the eye with decal. it is more easy & fast & better than using brush.
eye look abit too dark, transparency should reduce to 85-90%....next time.

1/48 Tamiya zero finish. whole thing very fragile. in order to take out the pilot seat, try to add magnetic strip to the connector between body & wing,....but failed. the wing heavy & the magnet power r weak & unable to support it. It keep falling down. Leaving me no choice but to glue it.
the wire cable is make from Hair line.

Man, scratchbuilding the interior surely ain't for me
First and last, so freaking lazy, and still some more things to do before I can close this Wespe chapter and move on with another build
