They only like mainstream brand/product, sells faster and better ma.
I buy MSI motherboard/graphic card, they ask me why not Asus/Gigabyte. I buy Nexus phone, friend ask is it as good as Samsung. I buy Olympus camera, they ask why not Canikon. This post has been edited by Someonesim: Jan 8 2014, 03:00 PM |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 8 2014, 03:25 PM) I guess 50% of Samsung users don't know they're actually using Android. Whenever they look at other android phones, all they have to say is "yerrr, why the interface all copy Samsung 1" I would said not about brand, but about what other people are using.Ignorant Malaysians All they care about is BRAND. Apple and Samsung. That's all they know. What to do. Yerr, we all use iPhone why you dont want. Samsung is good ma, why buy HTC. |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jan 8 2014, 08:25 PM) Samsung tried to do too much with lack of experience.Software was never their strength. They tried to do something with S3 but ended with "convoluted" product. Some of their additional functionality like multi window (even though it was more like hack) was interesting. But if Samsung want to have the best hardware/software experience they probably have to streamline their ROM's & make their UI more consistent. One of the reason I dont like Samsung was their UI, overloaded with features and lagness. They could learn from HTC, who had the same problem ( bad UI lag ) until they revamped Sense UI on HTC One.Aside from the Nexus series I would say S2 as 1 of the best Android phone.Excellent hardware with good software support.Sammy updated S2 from 2.3.6->4.0.4->4.1. Would have been better if Samsung went further with the software support. Also Samsung should really improve their hardware documentation. It sucks. Again DiGi with Nexus? Oh, please no. I think the early Nexus 4 adopters will agree with me. I'm waiting for the Malaysian Nexus 5 launch. But if no update till February I'll probably go for 32GB AP set. Seriously, even Moto G which was launched later than Nexus 5 is going to be launched in Malaysia soon even though Motorola pulled out of APAC market.LG still have presence in Malaysia. What's the holdup? Hopes the leaked TouchWiz was good |

QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Jan 9 2014, 02:35 AM) KitKat definitely. Well, TouchWiz was never laggy for me. My experience was exactly opposite. Helped few friend/colleague to flash custom ROM after they complaint their S3 laggy, of coz after I verified the lag ( not slow, but rather lost of frame rates during animation )I just don't know how typical Samsung users use their Android devices. I'm on TouchWiz launcher like day 1 of Samsung Android (Galaxy Spica) and it no longer lags since the Galaxy Y. I'm currently on Note 2 and it never lags on me. I even underclocked it to 800MHz and restricted to 1 core out of 4 cores running and undervolted to borderline stability to allow the device run cooler and getting the best battery life out of it. Still doesn't lag. People nowadays: Unsmooth animation = lag rather than slow speeds when changing from 1 homescreen to another |

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Jan 9 2014, 02:55 PM) I think by the time is RM4200. Not That's why it has to be Nexus devices to suppress extreme high price tag. Imagine they bring war directly to 600 USD market, Samsung/HTC/Sony will need to work harder and really innovate, instead of spec pump and 2000 extra features. That's a dream thou.I curious future Android devices to produce RAW photo, like Nokia and XiaoMi already did. Combine with Sony 20.7-megapixel rear camera with G Lens and BIONZ image processing system. Godlike. Google were talk of native RAW file support in future. Perhaps Android 4.4.3 or Android 5 |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 9 2014, 06:12 PM) Being an android user with lots of surrounding iPhoners, they usually call me an Apple hater eventhough I've used iPad (lost it due to clumsiness). Sometimes its hard to explain to ppl this one simple question. "Why Android?" Similar experience on me. It's rather normal human behavior, when you had better knowledge, they try to discriminate you.Exactly. Circumstances would only go worse when you mention the word "Nexus". When ppl trying to ask you why do you choose Nexus? I don't know why that's the most difficult thing I can ever explain about a phone. Prompt updates? ROMs...? Kernels...? Root...? Boot loader...? I would only say, Nexus can customize a lot and can tweak for good battery life. Responses : A. you sure boh...? Samsung cannot meh, also android mar! B. Ohhh.... (Deep down there, I know they don't even understand a thing) C. Cheh. iPhone also can jailbreak mar! One thing about testing out experimental stuff on your phone, When you're trying to do something like keep rebooting to flash and wipe cache and datas. My friends would go like "eh, you sohai, spoil lo! Also don't know wtf you doing." Even mounting a pendrive. He would like "wa! Can put pen drive ar! You don't act pro ar!" They wouldn't understand and kept nagging about what you're doing, calling you a phone geek sometimes. In saying this, I'm not a pro at tech stuffs, but when their Epal Aifon gone into some serious mess, I'm always the one they call first. Being a Android enthusiast can sometimes be "unique"? Wonder anyone else have experiences like mine. Pro in PC, nerd. Pro in phone, geek. Pro in Android, Apple hater. Didnt heard anyone said doctor was pervert who love to cut people. |

QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Jan 10 2014, 11:00 AM) Sometimes I just don't recommend at all. I'll just tell them, go to Singtel/Starhub/M1 (they have all the latest display sets) and try them out themselves. I don't want to give the wrong advice and ended up being scolded. It's not difficult to recommend iPhone to people. There's certain aspect/genes in people, that will use iPhone instead of anything else. someone like girl/boyfriend using, all my friend using, Apple expensive, so I should get it too.Being a free tech consultant nowadays is hard Then there's those dont want iPhone, I would recommend them Samsung S4/Note 3/HTC One. Most of people I met, if they dont know Nexus devices, they arent techie person, they would play my Nexus for one or two minutes then gave back to me. If one know about Nexus, most likely they are learning toward it already, so nothing needed to do to convince them further. |

QUOTE(((Xa))0102 @ Jan 10 2014, 11:28 AM) Not that complicated. Its like they will blame me for "causing" them to buy the wrong phone as if I pointed a gun at his/her temple and forcing them to spend thousands on a phone that they didn't like. Like what you said above "recommend". Ya, sometimes free consultant is difficult. I'll ask them to test the phone from colleague/friend or shop before decide. If they have really tried it themselves, probably it wouldn't happen right? Just like how your friend fiddled with your Nexus before deciding. |

QUOTE(xxdesire @ Jan 10 2014, 12:11 PM) Lol, I don't know which lrt TS took, so might not be me nia Remember last time in engineering class, 300 guys vs 5 girls. One girl transfer to my class, already kena booked after one week.not sure if 'special' or not, I believe if girls have interest in Tech (also interest in learning more), is also same with guys with interest in Tech. Though I understand, this interest, girls minority is small (reminds me of my college days, only 4 girls in my course) |
