If that is the case I think I need to have both icoca and Kansai thru pass correct? Is my itinerary appropriate ?
At the end you might need a Haruka & Icoca pass for you to travel between airport and city, so Icoca is a must anyway.. Icoca is like an octopus card in hong kong.. other than travel, you can use it to buy drinks in mostly all vending machine or food.. Kansai thru pass can let you access all transport station beside JR and buses in a designated area.. you need to check it on their website thou..
I can't tell you is worth or not, you have do the math yourself with hyperdia.com to check is it worth getting the pass or just use normal ticket.. see which one is the cheaper option..
Edit : travel between osaka and kyoto with JR according to hyperdia is 560 yen and only in JR... if you are travelling alot between , get JR west pass? if not just get the kansai thru pass..
Itinerary is based on person interest, just make sure that the route are smooth and not wasting time travel back and forth(like me, huge mistake and waste time in Kyoto
